hello everyone:

i have some questions regarding that care home kit thingy app. i installed CM7.1 on my 2x, and used antek app manager to rip the car home kit function out. de-installed, apk removed and so on. but when i fold back the cover of my magnetic lock protector, it pops up in the bar in the top of the screen with the steering wheel icon, even tho its not active it seems? and it dissapears again as soon as i fold the cover off the backside of my phone! google search already told me the magnet activates something in the phone just like the car kit phone cradle does when the phone is inserted, but a solution i could not find.so my questions are:

1)did i forget to remove some files which causes this? and also,

2)i dlled the gapps zip, and opened it: removed the care home apk and rezipped it. will this keep this car home thing from installing then, or do i need to remove more files from the zip? does it need some special treatment before i can use it (permissions or signing and such)?

3)is there some setting to make the phone not react on the magnet contact on its own?

also i must say CM7.1 is awesome, you guys really did stellar work with this. my 2x now feels like a high end super-phone. and i still dont get why LG just doesnt give the software part to you guys and stick to making good phones. cant wait till CM9 hope you all have a great christmas and a fantastic 2012!

You are not the only one with this question. I am just starting with CM. I got the same issue with a belt pouch with a magnetic lock. The CM seems to generate a Car / Dock  message signal that does turn on the screen and tries to start the 'configured' application. Removing the Car Home application does prevent it from starting but signal is still generated and the screen is turned on.

Looking already for several days for a solution for  CM 9 (yes nine) but nothing so far. There are some apps in the market which claim to intercept the signal but so far none found that really does the job. The most promising was the NoDock (trial and pay version) but that app could not load it's module on CM 9 (maybe it works on CM 7, I did not try).

So if anyone knows a solution for that, I would be grateful to get an answer.
