camera zoom function not working on xt502 ...tried every mod ROMS

have you guys ever noticed that the 3x zoom function of the camera is not working. camera is able to function properly but it cannot take pictures by zooming..i have tried several roms like cm7,super OSR as well as super AOSP...it doesnot functions in mod roms but using other official roms i can easily take pictures .can anyone solve this problem.

Dint found a fix for it, well all other mod roms are based on cm 7 with a lil bit of tweak like kernel etc (changed) so obviously they dint fixed it 
although the camera works fine in 2.2 roms try using 2.2
