Hi!
While I do believe I've seen that this is a bug, the soft keys can't be disabled. I want to disable them, but since it seems to be fixed now (?) I can wait.
While trying to get it to work, I got an idea. The lack of a notification light is my biggest gripe with the SGS2. What if I turn them off by default, but every time I get a message they light up?
Is this possible? Is it doable? :)

Check the latest nightly, it has a BLN (backlight notification) kernel and settings section included. :) BLN-aware apps can then turn on the softkey lights to notify the user of things when the main screen is off.
