Was quite bussy last few days, miui seems to be working and running and I'm maybe able to release the rom this month or in the beginning of the next month ^^
Android 4. will still take a while since the mtk6573 wasn't made for it(arm6).

Waiting for you if MIUI trials are needed on regular HDC A9100. ;)

I have same problem described in your post.  I may have gotten a semi functioning gps after many days of tweaking it.  If you can see satelites but cant connect you are half way there.  I got mine to work for the first time today, here is what I did.  1.  downloaded gps status and gps test (paid version) from market.  2.  find area that gives complete open view of southern sky.  3. do what you did above so that you can see satelites.  4. start gps test then click>menu>settings>gps & sensors>sensor filtering and play with the settings from no filtering to strong filtering.  gps status gives you a colorful view of communications activity between your gps receiver and satelites.  I still have a few issues but this may work out

And what about Gps Aids apk?

I will have to check it out, does it allow you to make adjustment to the gps reciever, still having issues getting solid fix.  Signal keeps dropping ...

There was an explanation at the beginning of the thread, but here it comes:
install program (on your computer)  SuperOneClick and root your phone than install bussybox and ES File Explorer, enable Root Explorer so that you can play around! :)

Thank you man for your effort it will be nice to test it, will the GPS function improve with the new rom?

As for the mtk6573 there are phones with android 4 on it here is an example: http://www.fastcardt... sim GPS W.html

If we can somehow get to that rom it could be a start!

I can't guarantee anything for that, if you want better gps I suggest to get a C version.
That phone is just 2.3 with a modified look, the HDC A9100 has on fastcardtech a 1.2ghz cpu rofl , otherwords the specs listed are not quite right...

To add information about our device:

I tried the original 1650 mAh Samsung Galaxy S2 I9100 battery, after checked all specifications, and it fits perfectly on HDC A9100!
Same dimensions, contacts polarity and stop joints.
But 1650 mAh instead of 1300 mAh...... :)
I also saw some special type with 2000 mAh but it requires specific cover, it make the phone less thin.

bye

yes, it's the same to me. I 've tried to revert back to 2.3.4 following the classic flash method but it get me an error related to ro.build.prop when extracting the zip file.... also without validation of file signature.

but overall I'm ok also with 2.3.5, it's quite smooth and fast

waiting for seahorsepip MIUI rom.... (thanks again in advance!)

bye

yes i agree claro966 that ROM 2.3.5 is more faster and smoother but i just want to try reverting from other ROM to another in case there will be official updates for HDC A9100 that will come from fastcardtech itself. So we can update our phone using the update.zip...
