sorry if this is a silly question, but i'm not able to find a way to get in the recovery mode, when the phone is turned off. Tryed everything like power + volume up or power + home etc.
Does anyone have a solution for this problem?
thanks!

Yep, I noticed that on mine too
I am generally pretty happy with my HDC A9100 but am disappointed about:
1) GPS - pretty much non-working
2) Head phone jack is non-standard (maybe some sort of chinese joke, I mean what can be the explanation for such a seemingly dumb choice
3) When data connection goes from 2G to 3G or vice versa I get message "restricted access changed" in the status bar and the signal drops off of the SIM providing the data-connection. It sort of reboots the connection with the SIM and after a while call & data-connection are up again.
Similar, but not sure if it relates, every now and then both SIMs get locked and I have to retype passwords for both to be able to use the SIMs again (as if the phone had rebooted)
I am interested in developments and will keep an eye on this forum / topic for sure.
Good luck seahorsepip with what you're doing, I hope my phone can benefit from your efforts in due time

In the mean time you could try out the 2.3.5 rom. Follow the instruction by REMJEZ!!

Hi,
I'm new to this modding thing, but would to give it a shot!
I've got a HDCA9100S2 with android 3.0 (or at least thats what is says in the phonestatus screen) , kernel 2.6.35.7, custombuild 1323162318.
It had pretty much the same problems as described above with phones on andoid 2.3:
- no GPS (The vendor claims the gps issue is due to the android 3.0 version, but the 2.3 phones have the same problem so i think it is hardware...)
- connectivity loss when switching from 2g-3g or wifi, reboot does the trick but annoying
- insufficiant memory alerts although plenty left..
- the microSD card scratches on the 1st SIMbracket, even so bad it went trough the plastic casing and damaged the internal copperwiring on the
SD, causing mallfunctioning of the sd and critical errors.
I know the hardware issues are difficult to solve (gps and SD mount, although piece of electrical tape behind SD card helps), but i have good hopes changing to another MOD can solve my connection problems as wel as the memory issue.
Any experience outthere with android 3.0 versions of the HDCA9100S2 and these issues?
tnx for response!!

.....
I am puzzled by this statement, as I do not really recognise the internal design of my phone.
The SD-card socket (left, when looking from the back) and dual SIM-card socket (right) are both located immediately above the battery socket, but there is 3-4 mm plastic between both sockets.
There is no chance of "scratching" the SD-card on the SIM-card socket, at least not on my version of the phone
Given also the unexpected Android version, I somewhat wonder if this would concern an HDC A9100 (but maybe the design has been changed quite radically recently).
I'm curious about what the build.prop is going to reveal.

1. http://www.fastcardt...sGPSWIFI50.html
2. http://www.fastcardt...+dual+came.html
The only phones being supported are the HDC A9100 and HDC A9100C.
*same phone but with 8mp printing on the back, android 2.3.5 and fixed gps.

but when i compared the benchmark of my HDC A9100/A9100C to HDC I9100, my phone got more score by 200 points above compared to the new HDC I9100.
I suggest the use of chainfire3D with QUALCOMM plugin to boost the graphic performance of the HDC A9100
