However, the Vizio device configuration appears to be very different from other android devices.
Most of the android device systems appear to have the following partitions: /boot : Contains bootloader + kernel + ramdisk /recovery : Contains bootloader + recovery kernel + recovery file system /system : Android system files /data : Android data partition /sdcard : external sdcard partition The Vizio partitions are the following /kernel : Contains kernel /ramdisk : Contains ramdisk /reckernel : Recovery kernel /recovery : Recovery partition file system /system : Android system files /data : Android data partition /sdcard : internal sdcard partition (Also appears to contain a bootloader)
The biggest difference is that the /boot partition in the Vizio does not exist and is instead replaced by separate /kernel + /ramdisk partition. The same problem occurs with the /recovery partition as well. Therefore one needs to be very careful when flashing ROMs due to this difference in the file system organization.
Therefore the standard recovery/boot img created will not work on this. How would I go about modding this? Are there any other devices that have a similar layout? Thanks in advance for your help.
