Do you think there will be any hope for official CM8/9 support seeing as source for honeycomb and ICS have been dropped today?
are there any maintainers left for the nook or has development stopped all together?????

I hope CM9 is worked on for the Nook Color, especially now that the new Nook Tablet is being released.

My suspicion is the main devs will work on porting ICS to the HP Touchpad first, then the Nook Tablet and then the Nook Color, if at all. If I were them that is how I would prioritize.......

Why the Nook Tablet first? Is the Touchpad officially ported with CM7.1?

The TP is not fully ported yet and given the screen size, hardware and that Dal and others have one I'm betting they will try that first and just drop the CM7 port. Why tablet first? Because it is new, beefier and they have to create a new kernel anyway for either the tablet or NC.

Oh I see. Yea, my girlfriends family picked up a cheap TP and the hardware is pretty slick. As for the Nook tablet, i just had it in my head that the Nook tablet was the old B/W touch reader and that the new NT would be called something like NC2 or something. My mistake.

Forget about ICS on the Nook Tablet with a locked bootloader preventing you to drop a new kernel in there ...
As such, let's hope work on the NC continues and/or devs focus on the Kindle Fire.

About a year and a half ago, I purchased an HTC Legend just so I could do the cyanogen mod.  The phone got stolen after 2 weeks...

Anyways, I just ordered a Nook color refurb ($119 - $15 groupon credit (for $7.50) = $111.50 !!!).  So I'm back!

I'm very hopeful that CM8 or 9 will be ported for the NC.

Let's keep our fingers crossed and make some noise.  Hopefully the developers will hear us :)

Damnit - I also just repurchased a NC via ebay. I wish I had known that there was a Groupon (or was that an old deal?)!

It was a deal from a couple of months ago.  I was itching to use it, but everything I wanted on Ebay was under $15... until now :)

Nice - lucky you!
Guess I also missed the Kindle Fire for $124 deal at walmart/target (though there are more and more voices now that it was a scam).

Same here on the NC. I can't imagine the NC won't get cm9 although I'm not a developer -- especially when you consider what they've done with the Tablet version. I just CMified another refurbished NC last night, and while the wiki was way off, the finished product is just as useful as what I enjoy every day on my own device.

I wont even entertain the thought that cm9 is not coming to the Encore :) This has been the perfect way to showcase an excellent CM experience on inexpensive hardware. I'm sure it will go on!

I am sure it will get CM9 - the question is when.
Dalingrin (one of the main devs for the NC) is primarily focused on the HP touchpad ...
:(

Well, now I'm torn. I bought my wife a 16GB TP a few weeks ago and now it keeps rebooting under Alpha 3. I just want to see the TP start getting on the nightlies -- either 7 or 9 I don't care -- and I'm willing to sit on 7 on the NC for a little while longer if that means that the TP is going to get (a lot?) more stable.

I just CMified my aunt's NC over the weekend...damn I love CM on these things...and really want to see the TP make significant progress this winter.

It's because of things like waiting for CM9 (the joy experienced when it comes out) and searching for bargains that turn out great, that us poor people (relatively, compared to most ipad owners that is) have more fun :)
