Hi all!

I'm using CM 7.1 stable, and noticed that the signal bar (together with the H symbol) turns to white many times a day on my Legend. When it does that, it loses internet connectivity via 3G, and it doesn't seem to connect again unless I use internet (e.g. use googletalk, browser, or an app that uses internet) or turn Airplane mode ON, then OFF again.

That most of the time happen during the night, when my phone is just lying on the bed, and where the location  is generally having atleast 3 out of 4 signal bars. Although it also happens during the day, when I'm usually needing to wait for gmail emails and gtalk messages. To quickly solve that, I turn on airplane mode, then off it again.

I also noticed this happening during CM 7, and the nightlies. But if on wifi, I haven't notice it happen.

I'm NOT inclined to think that it's a signal problem, since here in Singapore, cellular signal is generally good.

I also searched for the problem and saw a couple of non-Legend CM7 and CM7.1 users mentioning of the same concern.

Anybody noticed the same with their legends?

It actually is a signal problem and caused by bad reception, over-crowded cells and the fact that the system rather drops the connection than retrying infinitely and sucking the battery empty.

Ive used HTC Legend for a little year now .. Ive had the same problem.
For the past year ive had my Legend running Cyanogenmod7.1.0-legend and yet got this problem .. ive searched all over the web, no solutions .. Though i doubt its a antenna problem with the phone, hence when i install the regular android 2.2 . ( Reset the phone to fabricstandards, sorry for my spelling ) it seems to work just fine .. Ive tried to test with the android 2.2 the signal during a couple of weeks, and i have no problem what so ever , that looks like this .. I experienced 5-10 times where i would'nt be able to connect to the 3g. But when running Cyanogen7 i got 3g isusses like 5-10 times a day .. :s
Im not an expert on this, but i saw u saying it has something to do with the signal, do you even mean the antenna in the phone, or just the signal from the software in the phone?

Having the same issue on the Evo 4G. Latest stable build of CyMod 7.1 as far as I know, and no other changes.

It is most definitely NOT my signal doing it either, as it does this on 3G, 4G, and WiFi! Happens especially often while using WiFi hotspot/Tethering on the phone to my PC....

Is there something needing to be changed with the radio software? An update I have yet to perform??

Go easy with me on the answers... I am still VERY noob to this root/modding phones thing, so I haven't learned all the particular geek-speak....

Also, getting a text or phone call trying to come through while using hotspot, SEVERELY hangs the phone with lag.... the only solution being Airplane Mode on off.
