Hi,

I have Cyanogen 7 running on my HTC Desire (GSM). I have partitioned my 8GB SD card to set up a 2GB ext partition. The rest is FAT32. I have configured S2E to move the apps to the ext, but am not sure whether Dalvik cache should also be moved out. Is it safe? Are there any potential drawbacks to having the D-cache on the ext instead of the phone?

Thanks.
Ani.

Yeah it's safe to do so, I have, and had no problems at all. There are drawbacks though, you're always going to lose a bit of speed when you move the dalvik over but in my experience the speed difference has barely been noticable and is worth the extra bit of space it gives me.  All depends though, if you don't have that many apps and you don't really need the extra space then you may as well leave it on internal.

You can try it with S2E without risk. So you can compare the performance and decide for yourself. I think it greatly depends on the SD card you have installed. When I moved the cache I got much slower app starts, slow performance in some apps and the market started to crash from time to time. But this can be related to my cards speed.
