So I have tested ICS and I love it. HD streaming work, glichy but works. Battery drain is havy, and many other glitch ****, but for an Alpha ROM this ICS rocks. Thanks arcee great work. Here is a full link to his release site: http://rootzwiki.com...-g2x-selfkang1/ I am now a happy G2X wind optimus 2X ICS running owner. Face unlock works too.

Guys, just want to confirm something. I know about issue with Nvidia and Tegra 2 drivers. But Ricardo mentions about acceleration working. Will I be able to play games from Tegra Zone on this build?

I shouldn't bet my money on that. Some might work but i think most of them would crash. GOF2 can't be started.
Maby if there is a way with different kernels and Chainfire but right now i doubt that :/
I would be happy if someone proove me wrong. I too want the HW acceleration to work (especially for GOF2

This may seem like a stupid question, but I can't hold it.
I don't understand the difference between the nightlys on the one hand and versions I found at this page http://rootzwiki.com...-g2x-selfkang3/ on the other hand.
Doesn't contain the nightlys CM9? Because i thought the nightlys are the actual state of development of the Cyanogenmod team (btw. great job!). Maybe someone can help me. I'm just wondering what version of CM I should install to get the best version of ICS. Actual working with CM 7.1 RC.
Thanks so much!

Why the development for P990 CM9 is stopped?
The Samsung Galaxy Tabs are getting the ICS update now in canada. The Galaxy Tabs has a Tegra2-chip too. So nvidia has done the ICS drivers for Tegra2??
So where is the problem? Why this Tegra2 drivers for ICS couln't be used for CM9?
You could not?...or you do not want to do it?
I you can't, please explain us why its not possible. So we have a reason...
At the moment we have absolutely no idea why the development for P990 is stopped since the end of february.
Offtopic:
The same for HTC desire GSM too... There is full ICS Hardware-support possible.
Have a look at www.sandvold.as.

I received this answers for the question above:
1. probably because the galaxy tab has another version of the tegra 2, it has the Montana version i think.
Our p990 has the Harmony chipset, sadly.
2. There is no such thing as a Harmony chipset. Harmony is the name of a reference design for tablets.
Are you 2 seriously talking about me (or CM) having the same kind of access to nvidia materials as a device manufacturer? How on Earth does it seem likely to you that we have the same kind of agreement with nVidia as companies that pay them hundreds of thousands or millions of dollars/year?
3. I didn't tell that. I only told that without the source code of our tegra version, developers can't work more on our devices.
4. That much is true, but it has nothing to do with chipset variants. While there are different T2 variations, they're almost 100% compatible between themselves.
Devices with compatible board designs can share blobs (hence the compatibility between the first-generation Harmony-based tablets and the second-generation Ventana-based tablets), but the tegra2 phones aren't derived from any known reference design (especially not a tablet one)

does this change the situation? I mean shouldn't someone, more skilled than me, be able to extract the drivers from this? (given that someone is able to get a ROM dump from South Korea)

I don't know more than you but I'm guessing that there might be issues with driver compatibility if ICS only gets released on the Korean SU660 as this phone is different from the P990. But this news definitely got my hopes up (yet again) for proper ICS/JB support in CM!
Best advise is as always to either give a hand or sit tight, wait and avoid nagging the devs
