Spent several hours working on this one today. I first attempted to flash in the WiFi Calling zip on my CM 7.1 ROM that I've been using for months. From that point on there was no service whatsoever.

I tried reflashing CM 7.1 first, then WiFi Calling WITHOUT Google Apps. Same thing, no service. Baseband version was then reported as <unknown>. Reflashed the ROM and Google Apps, and now the radio reports 5.12.00.08, which is acceptable according to this link (although whether it is required or not is debatable).

In "Popular Downloads" on Unforgiven512's website, there are two packages available. I used the newer one.

I tried removing the extras in Titanium Backup, but I couldn't figure out exactly what I needed to remove. Can you guys hold my hand for a couple minutes and show me exactly what needs to go? I'd really like to post a definitive fix for this issue to remove the confusion.

Try this version, rebuild by avgjoemomma as unforgiven stop work a while back.

If you need to delete the old version first, use tb and delete Wifi calling app plus GanOptimizer

Too bad I didn't check the thread this morning, as I just confirmed that Unforgiven's WiFi calling 1.3 works with CyanogenMod 7.0.3.

Download list:
CyanogenMod 7.0.3
Google Apps
Unforgiven T-Mobile WiFi Calling 1.3 (from unforgivendevelopment.com)

Boot to ClockwordMod Recovery
"Wipe data/factory reset"
"Wipe Cache Partition"
"Advanced > Wipe Dalvik Cache"
"Install zip from sdcard > Choose zip from sdcard >" Install CM 7.0.3, Google Apps, and finally WiFi Calling
"Reboot system now"

Although everything works flawlessly, downgrading to an older version of CyanogenMod bugs me, even if it's only one release behind. As soon as I have some time, I'll give avgjoemomma's WiFi calling a try with CM 7.1.

You should be able to run the latest version of CM, but you need to remove some apks before you flash the wireless calling app. The easiest ones to remove are any of the themes you don't use. Also, if you don't use them, you can remove the CM Wallpapers and the Live Wallpapers apps. Those save quite a bit of space.

After you remove those (either by using adb and removing them manually in recovery, or using something like Titanium Backup or Root Explorer to remove them in the OS), you should be able to flash the wificalling without an issue on 7.1. The ROM is just getting too big for our limited internal memory...

I just tried the solution posted by baseballfanz, and I can confirm that it works flawlessly both in new and existing flashes of CyanogenMod 7.1. Follow the link he provided on your computer, scan the QR code in with your phone, download the zip file, boot to recovery, and install the zip from your sdcard. No other modifications are needed.

It install as a system app.  Great thing about the latest wifi app by avvjoemomma is it's only about 1/3 the size of the original app.
You can try flashing without deleting anything first.  If that don't work just delete stuffs you don't use

Baseballfanz link worked for me too.  However, it seems like avgjoemomma's package continues to have low volume issues for the person on the other end.  Does anyone know if there is a wifi calling package that resolves that issue or is it always an issue with wifi calling?

It's an ongoing issue with WiFi calling unfortunately.  You can some try a mod to increase the microphone gain on your side but this might cause the person you are calling to hear an echo (of their own voice) which happens with some VOIP apps.  A headset might help with the problem, but I don't have one to experiment with.

I still want to work on the updated WiFi calling method from T-Mobile but between work and all my other chores, it's getting really hard to sneak in time.  It has to be done though, I'm sure T-Mobile will phase out the Kineto calling we are using now within a year or so

Thanks, avgjoemomma. I'll try out the headset to see if that helps. For now, it solves my lack of cell signal in my home, so THANK YOU for that.

Just wondering if anyone has tried  avgjoemomma's package on CM7.2RC2?

Is the link to the package still current? Or is there a newerver version?

I installed 7.2 with avgjoemomma's package and it does not seem to work anymore.  It gives me errors.  I tried to go back to 7.1 with avgjoemomma's package and for some reason it stopped working also.  Any help appreciated.

Correction, was able to get it work on 7.2 as well.  Must have been a temporary glitch.

I can also confirm that Wifi Calling installs and works easily on the Nexus One running CM7.2. I was able to make a call using Google Voice after a fresh flash of 7.2, no need to remove any APKs or be careful with installed apps.
