This is a known issue that the builders know about?
My phone never had a problem waking up before, now it does it every so often.. I'll try some of the suggestions here and see what happens..

So this just happened again today and fyi, plugging in the phone charger (wall or to my pc) did not wake the phone, as someone said it would. Had to a reboot with the 3 button combo..

Also experiecing this. I use my phone a lot through out the day, and this happens at least every other day, among other issues. So far only a battery pull has fixed it, will have to try the usb trick. I have already had my min processor set between 200-400 well before I read this thread.

I've gotten around the by changing the settings to enable the volume rocker to wake the phone. It's under Settings|CyanogenMod Settings|Input|Volume rocker wake.

I had this problem on my stock Captivate and "cured" it with "Captivate Keep Alive" from the market.  When I installed CM7 the problem came back, so Keep Alive went right back on.  It seems to help with my phone, and I keep it set at about 96%.

I am having this problem too after installing CM7. Tried few suggestions as mentioned in this forum but problem continued.

I suspect this is something to do with the lock screen and/or screen animation. So now I am trying the below and so far it has been 105 hours since my phone restarted and I have not experienced the screen not waking up upon hitting the power button issue. 105 hours may be too soon to judge whether the problem is fixed. But for me this has been the longest it has gone without me having to pull the battery.

Here is what I did.

1. Menu | Settings | CyanogenMod Settings | Lockscreen | Style Options | choose background
I had set a Custom Image and I used to have problems. Now I have set it to Color Fill and not noticed any issues so far

2.  Menu | Settings | CyanogenMod Settings | Display
Uncheck both Screen On and Screen Off Animation

I will report may be in two days on how my phone is holding up. Report your experience if you try this suggestion

just following up on my previous post and reporting the up time. It now stands at 244 hours without screen locking up/need for battery pull. So changes I made as suggested in my previous post seem to be working great for me.

I had the same issue with my Evo 4G. I was able to fix it by first changing my wake up background to a single color and then turning ON my wake up and sleep animations.

Thanks, this worked for me also.
