Hi everybody, this isn't exactly an Evo Shift-specific problem but that's the device I'm using and I wasn't sure which other forum to post this in.

I'm trying to install ROM Manager Premium, but it refuses to install because of the built-in version of ROM Manager included with CM7. I've tried using various methods to uninstall it, including using Terminal Emulator to directly delete the apk from /system/app, but while it appears to be uninstalled the premium version still asks if I want to overwrite the original version and then refuses to install. Is there anything I can do to completely remove it?

Thanks in advance!

Edit: Nevermind, all I had to do was move the Premium apk into /system/app.

How did you copy it? I use ES File Explorer and try to copy it.

When I try to do it it says copy failed.
I can not even delete the old one.

You need root privileges to write to /system/app or anywhere in /system for that matter.  To top it off, you have to set the directory for write privileges.

I use Root Explorer.  Once you open the /system/app folder, you can press Mount R/W which will make that folder writable and then you can copy the .apk u want and paste it in said folder.  Once that's complete, I would set the folders permissions back to R/O for security.

You may be able to do this with ES File Explorer but you have to set the root options up in settings.  At the bottom of the settings screen you have to check off both Root Explorer and Mount File System.
