Given the recent explosion of nightly users, I understand your need for a place to discuss them, and/or ask if other users are having similar issues as you...this is that place

  • DO NOT: Post to the bug tracker
  • DO NOT: Open another thread (I will enforce this with temp bans)
  • DO NOT: Think of this as official forum support; this thread will be strictly user to user support. Don't expect CM-dev help.
** These CyanogenMod builds are highly experimental and unsupported.
**
** Please refrain from submitting bug reports for any issues
** you may encounter while running one of these builds.
**
** Submitting bug reports on nightly builds is the leading
** cause of male impotence.

OK... was using RC1, tried nightly 1 (main change appears to be the kernel). Phone is constantly saying "No SIM Card". Tried switching airplane mode on/off, but phone does not ask for PIN. In addition also unable to enable wifi/bluetooth.

Reverted back to RC1, all of the above works as expected. I did not wipe between the two installs. Did run fix-permissions from ROM Manager to see if that cured the problem.

Have to wander off to work shortly, with RC1. If anyone can tell me what further info they need, if this is a common problem, let me know, and I'll see what I can do when I get in from work.

Rob.

Battery life seems to be pretty good... have enabled ondemand cpu scheduling, and underclocking, but left max-speed at 600, so no overclocking... autobrightness for the screen, and both wifi and bluetooth switched on.

What is the correct way to install the nightly 3 version if I had RC1 installed and running?

Do I need to wipe cache and/or wipe data/factory reset?

I have happily gone from RC1 to the nightlies without wiping... although I guess it cannot harm to wipe cache and dalvik cache.

The cache should be wiped automatically when installing a new build, so no need for that. Just make a backup and install the new build. Has the wake-screen-after-call bug been fixed in the nightlies yet?

Any one else had a problem with phone shutting down on Nightly 3?? Go to phone and it is dead. Have to pull battery out to re-boot.

Also screen freeze, free's up when lock and unlock is used.

I just installed Nightly 3 from RC1 without any problem.

I'm not seeing the lock/unlock screen screen freeze. I am not running any no non-standard demons or services. Just what comes with the ROM.

Camera auto-focus is back, woo hoo. Haven't tried it on a mobile network yet.  Thats next :)

Yep - I'm running Nightly 3 with no problems - still not clear however, why dialing my answer machine gives me completely different dialer options than when I make a normal phone call?
