recently Cyanogen tweeted this : we are just going straight to ICS for all msm8660 devices since the framework doesn't need as much hacking. Does this mean we are getting EVO 3D GSM support by Cyanogenmod?

Hi, I was thinking of replacing my ZTE Blade with an Evo 3d since it's actually pretty cheap in my country, and because I doubt that the blade will run ICS smoothly.
But I will buy it only if I can install CyanogenMod on it. Will the EVO 3d GSM be fully supported?
Thanks

Made the same switch today
I don't know if CM9 will make it to the GSM version or not, but there are already 2 very promising ICS roms available. One that is AOSP and one that is based on a leaked Sensation XE ROM iirc (4.0.3 with Sense 3.6) which have the same problems that almost every other ICS rom has at the moment: ie. camera and usb storage doesn't work.
However, the CM7 port looks like it's stalling (last update was end of Dec '11 iirc). Not sure if the devs have just abandoned it or if they have moved to CM9.

Thanks to Tytung, we already have ics (4.0.3) with cm9 for the hd2. I'm sure that there will be cm for the evo 3d gsm. Even if cyanogen doesn't make one, one of the devs at xda will for sure. I'm buying my evo 3d next week. And I'm counting on a cm9 port at the very least.

Well that's a shame, I saw the Evo 3D for a great price and did a quick check on this website to make sure Cyanogenmod was supported, and only just realized that the GSM one is not
Happy to have a great phone at a great price, but I'll miss running Cyanogen for the mean time.

Check xda, Ganii has posted a CM9 rom for the GSM Evo.

Howdy... Am also interested in a mod for EVO 3D GSM. Have been recommended that CM is the way to go. Am hopeful, that one will be forecoming soon, and can see that seeking a hard and fast date is a "no, no", so will not make such a request other than to say that with another voice showing interest, I hope it will encourage those that are, or are in the know, to bring it out sooner rather than later. Cheers, FMR

Any chance for CM9 on Evo 3D GSM?
