not recovery choices as much as recovery problems.
pardon me if i post this in the wrong place or whatever, im not doing it on purpose.
i have evo3d as a replacement for my evo4g that was stolen. i had 4g rooted, s-off running cm7 and man do i ever miss it. but anyway, i finally got evo3d with hboot 1.5 to root, s-on, and originally had the TWRP installed, but was only able to get the synergy rom to flash, and it didnt unlock the hotspot. so i kept on and and til i installed a newer boot image from same rom, but different version and that unlocked the hotspot.
never satisfied and phone home-sick, shoulda quit cause if it aint broke dont fix it, but i kept trying. i wound up with clockworkmod recovery and then i flashed cm7, AND IT WORKED!!! HOORAYY! UNTIL i tried to boot back into recovery to install some of the cm7 themes i found. my phone just reboots. i can get into bootloader and fastboot, AND THERE IS a recovery option there, but when i select it it just reboots the system! I have tried reinstalling the recoveries both TWRP and CWM using both fastboot flash method and pgIMG method, it says success at the end, but wont go to recovery screen, IT JUST REBOOTS!. HELP!!!

Well this forum certainly died after the shoutbox left. Anyway if you haven't already figured it out, the 1.5 hboot has problems (pretty happy I got the release hboot in july) Here is some info you'll need.

you'll need to boot into the recovery via fastboot in order for a kernel to stick. I ran into the same problem on my father's phone. Kinda a pain in the ass. Best of Luck!
