I've noticed in the last few weeks a lot of apps are no longer showing as compatible with my device in Market, either on the web or on the phone. Google Maps and Facebook are two apps I'm unable to update through the Market currently.
Is this a CM7 issue, an EVO 4G issue, a CM7 on EVO 4G issue, or a Rob issue?
Does anybody have any workarounds?
Rob

That is odd... I'm running CM 7.1 RC and it's showing as not compatible. I wonder if it's an RC issue? Is there any way anybody knows of to figure out exactly why something is showing as not compatible?

Nevermind, I figured out how to download the .apk separately and install it. I thought it may be over my head, but it wasn't!
Disregard!

Hello,
I'm having the same issue and didn't want to start a new topic.
I just put CM on my ViewSonic G-tab over the weekend, and am loving it so far. Unfortunately, about 10% of the apps I go to in the market are saying "Your device is not compatible with this item." Specifically, the Amazon Kindle App is not working for me. This has happened with a few other apps like YouTube and some others, like the posters above.
I have Android 2.2.3 with CM 7.0.3-Harmony and followed this guide to rooting:

Any thoughts? I'd love to have the Kindle App for class this quarter.
Thanks!

I've noticed several apps are no longer on the Market at all, and have been removed from my phone! The shortcut may still be there, but the app isn't. I tried installing them from AppBrain and get a message that it's no longer available. Many of the Ringtones apps were like this, and my guess is some kind of violation of ASCAP/BMI fees not paid. Having said that, while slightly OT, if anyone knows of other song ringtone apps available somewhere, please point the way!

- Netflix
- Google Maps
Is there a place we can get APKs that are compatible with CM7RC1 or do I need to revert back to CM7 or (shuddering here) Sense if I want to continue to use and update my apps?

I'm unable to push the Facebook or Maps, etc installs from the web market interface, either. It shows the app, but won't let me select my device, stating that the application is not compatible with my device.
It sure would be nice if Google would give you the choice to override the device compatibility warnings. :-\
Any more thoughts? Anybody know where you can grab APKs from the market without using your phone?

It seems to be related to the latest market upgrade, if I uninstall the update then I can briefly download those Apps again until the market auto updates again.

Thanks for writing in. If several apps that were showing are now saying
they are incompatible, first check your Content Filter in Market. If the
Content filter was reset by an update, any app that is not rated
'Everyone' will show as incompatible.
To check the Content Filter on your device:
- Open 'Market' on your device
- Press the 'Menu' button on your device
- Select 'Settings'
- Choose the drop-down menu 'Content Filtering'
For now, set this for '5 - Show all apps'. You can lower the rating after
checking.
Return to your home screen, then launch Market. If the problem remains, I
recommend temporarily uninstalling Market updates. To do so, please follow
these steps:
- Go to "Home" > "Menu" > "Settings" > "Applications" > "Manage
applications"
- Touch the "All" tab
- Scroll down and select the Market app
- Touch "Uninstall updates"
This will revert Android Market to the original version that came with
your device. Android Market should automatically self-update to the
current version within a few hours. You can also perform the following
steps to ensure the latest version of Android Market is updated properly:
- Launch Android Market
- Switch to the Home screen
- Wait 5-10 minutes for Market to self-update
- Re-launch Market
To check your version of Android Market:
- Go to Settings > Applications > Manage Applications
- Touch the All tab
- Scroll down and select Market

Hope this helps someone. Cheers.

Although - there was a situation where I had to seek out apps to upgrade because they weren't automatically showing up in "my apps". Wiping market data/cache did not fix this. Nor did reverting the market. wierd.

edit... Setting the normal density in props did fix the problem, so market must look there to decide compatibility.
