I've been trying to use the wiki to install CM7 on a Vibrant. I have gotten Superuser on the device so far, but haven't really been able to get much further.
I am on 2.1 build number UVKA2. The device is unlocked right now and on AT&T. (I don't have T-Mobile anymore) When I hit the update option, it says there is no firmware. My troubles might be caused by that. If so, how can I manually update the phone to Samsung's 2.2 ROM?
I tried the Hiemdall thing. When installing the drivers, I did not see "Samsung USB Composite Device" or "Gadget Serial" like the wiki said I should. However, I did see "SAMSUNG_Android" listed so I chose that and installed the drivers. I ran the frontend and got a "Failed to detect compatible device" message. I couldn't figure out what to do.
Since I had the ability to give things superuser permissions, I eventually downloaded ROM Manager from the Market and tried flashing the recovery from there. I was able to boot into Clockwork from there temporarily, but received an error message when flashing CM7 RC1.
So currently, I still have the stock 2.1 ROM on the device with superuser permissions installed. When I try to boot to recovery using the volume up+down+power button method, it's back at the default Samsung Recovery thing.
I appreciate any help you can give
