I'm rather new at this rooting thing but so far everything does what it's supposed to do.  The App Store works, google apps work, even got Netflix working.  The only problem I really have is the rather confusing SD Card storage issue.  A number of apps want to write to an SD card that I don't have mounted.  I know, they're expecting a phone with an SD Card.  But is there a way to mount a partition on the SD Card that will show up as SD Card to these apps?  Nothing I've put on the SD card is ever recognized.

I started with a 1G card partitioned as follows:
boot 117m
other 313 m
other 549m

I created an image using WinImage and put it onto a 2G card:
boot 117m
other 313m
other 549m
unallocated 905m

Both cards boot and work fine.  But when I look at Settings/Storage it shows "internal storage" as 500m with about 140m free.  Is this the 549m "other" partition on the SD Card?

On the surface it looks like I could extend the 549m partition to suck up the rest of the space and it would show up as "internal storage", whatever that is supposed to be.

I haven't quite been able to figure out what, exactly, is mounted where.  Still confused.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
