what's keeping you from flashing "again"? That's the one and only solution for that kind of troubles... ckeck the download with "md5sum" just to be on the safe side...

happy flashing

Is there a changelog anywhere? Not flashed for a while and it would be good to see if there are any cherries.

Hi All,

Quick  one. I am currently running a build from the nightlys from here:
http://cyanogenmod.arif-ali.co.uk/rom/
I would like to update to the latest nightly. Is this as simple as flashing the latest nightly? Do i need to wipe everything or just clear the cache when i flash the latest nightly from the above link? Will my data stay in tact on the phone?

Also are the nightly that are built and posted on the above link actually worked on? I can see the file change size around mid last month, so i was wondering if its worth keeping up with the nightlys or weekl updates on CM7 from the above link.

I am aware that most of the development is on CM9.

Cheers.

Hi, I am running CM7 #116 and Video recording works OK most of the time, occasionally, once a day or so, the video recording stop button crashes the camera and I can force close or wait for it.  Wait doesn't do anything, force close scraps the video.  If I power the screen off, leave it ten seconds and then switch it back on the video seems to recorded correctly, and I can view it.  However, part way through playing it, it green screens and all videos then green screen.  Rebooting the phone fixes the other videos but leaves my latest recorded video as 'Sorry, this video cannot be played'

My 1st post on here, so I feel I must add my thanks to the CM teams for developing such an awesome build.  I just can't wait until we get the video working fully on CM9 then I will be on that one.  IIRC we need something from Samsung before that one can be fixed!

You should be able to just flash the latest nightly, leaving all of your data and system settings in place - this is what I do.
As always you should create a backup first as things can and do, even if very rarely, go wrong.

The nighlies posted at http://cyanogenmod.arif-ali.co.uk/rom/ are builds created by Arif-Ali from the XDA Dev forums but are based on the source from CyanogenMod devs - this is due to the fact the CyanogenMod buildbots are not up at present.

Hi Mate,

Thanks for the reply. So do i need to clear the cache and things before i flash the new nightly from the SD card? I have not had to move to a new version yet as this is the first time i have flashed a ROM onto my phone. So just wanting to sus out the flash path to the latest build before i give it a try.

Thanks.

Given the recent explosion of nightly users, I understand your need for a place to discuss them, and/or ask if other users are having similar issues as you...this is that place
  • DO NOT: Post to the bug tracker
  • DO NOT: Open another thread (I will enforce this with temp bans)
  • DO NOT: Think of this as official forum support; this thread will be strictly user to user support. Don't expect CM-dev help.
** These CyanogenMod builds are highly experimental and unsupported.
**
** Please refrain from submitting bug reports for any issues
** you may encounter while running one of these builds.

** Submitting bug reports on nightly builds is the leading

OK, so best advice for me is to download the latest nightly for CM7 and see how I get on with that, I guess.

Thanks for your help.

Latest nightly "update-cm-7-20120226-NIGHTLY-galaxys2-signed.zip" gives me 50% chance of kernel panic when I reboot. Have wiped and started from scratch, no difference. Have flashed diff modem, no difference. Back to 7.1 stable again.
