I was trying to update my roaming capabilities and found that i have no dial pad in that screen.  Anybody else have this problem?

This happened to me too.  I just long pressed the Menu key and it brought up the regular keyboard and then I was able to enter a 1.

Just experienced the same issue tonight trying *228 ... thanks for the workaround.  Issue I think should be addressed as well.

Happened to me today too. My workaround was to enter *228 in the dialpad, hit menu, add three 2-second pauses, press 1, add three more pauses, enter phone number, three more pauses, enter passcode, three more pauses, press 1, three more pauses, press 1.  Wish I had known long-press menu for keyboard, it was a hassle to figure out.  Good to know for future reference!

If your ESN is already active on your VZW account you can also dial the shortcut programming of *22899 and it will automatically go straight to the option 1 programming.  (I work in a VZW store, and use this all of time - Honestly, I never noticed that the dialer didn't come up, because i never had to use it)
