As I understand it most Samsung apps have hooks into the Touch Wiz framework, which is closed source software from Samsung and therefore won't work with Cyanogenmod.

After flashing Cyanogenmod 7.1, I tried restoring a game and it worked.  I was then motivated to restore Samsung Apps itself, because the game was free in the Samsung Apps market but $3.38 in the Android market.

However, when I tried to restore Samsung Apps market, Titanium Backup went into an infinite loop.  An attempt to restore Program Monitor had the same result.

I suspect it failed because I did not restore any of these first:
- Samsung account
- Samsung Installer Utility
- com.sec.android.app.samsungapps
- com.samsung.app.playreadyui

See my other post (http://forum.cyanoge...post__p__259960) about what CyanogenMod is, and more importantly in this case, isn't. Since it _isn't_ a Samsung based ROM, it doesn't have Samsungs closed source framework called TouchWiz. Most, of Samsungs apps have hooks into named framework, and thus will not function properly without it. Note that an app downloaded through the app "Samsung Apps" is not the same as a Samsung app in this regard. So Angry Birds downloaded through market is not different from Angry Birds downloaded through "Samsung Apps".

I was hoping that those components provided the Touch Wiz framework. :P
