Application Install All-Around Failures
#1
Posted 14 July 2010 - 02:07 AM
I just flashed CM6 and got it up and running on my dream. I saw a lot of awesome stuff! Keep up the good work
Unfortunately I had to jump back into 5.0.8 because of one serious issue: half of the apps I was using will no longer install.
I tried downloading them from the market. It errors out on the install.
I tried using adb. this fails, heres the full text:
c:\Phone Back\apps>adb install "ASTRO v2.5.0.apk"
1163 KB/s <2295380 bytes in 1.926s>
pkg: /data/local/temp/ASTRO v2.5.0.apk
Failure [INSTALL_FAILED_CONTAINER_ERROR]
I am at a loss. installing via terminal from the SD card gives the same error message.
Am I the only seeing this problem?
Current Hardware:
HTC G1
Cyanogen 6.0.0RC1
Radio 2.22.23.02
Danger SPL
If there is anything else I can do to assist in this issue let me know. I'm going to try reflashing tomorrow and see if that helps.
Thanks,
Adamantbob

that is just silly, sledgehammer to crack a wallnut, or an atom bomb ?
there is a file you need to remove ( logcat details it )
can't remember what it is but this should work
find /mnt /data/local -iname "*.tmp" -exec rm {} \;edit, remembered wrong, see http://forum.cyanoge...dpost__p__24587 ; cheers Kyle Potts !!
rm /mnt/secure/asec/smdl2tmp1.asec
and please, if it says something like permission denied .. su !!!

find /mnt /data/local -iname "*.tmp" -exec rm {} \;I am sure it is overkill but if I am going to reflash anyway does it do any harm to do this?

Thanks, now that I am up and running I will remember this so I don't have to re-flashf I run into the problem again. You have to excuse me, I am a MS developer by profession so I am still trying to get my bearings on Android.

Worked great for me!
First time to use Terminal so I had to do a little further Googling to figure out what to do.
For other noobs...
1. Open Terminal Emulator on the phone
2. Type su to activate SuperUser
3. Once the $ sign turns to # type in the above code
4. That should do it
And BTW - it's smdl2tmp1.asec (with the letter L before the 2) not smd12tmp1.asec (with the number 1) :-)

I am seeing this issue with CM 6.0 stable AND with CM 6.1 RC1
what i am doing:
looking for any app - push install
-> starting download
-> downloading
-> error: Download unsuccessful
i tried to empty market chache, wipe cache and dalvik cache - reboot - fix permission in recovery - reboot
same error again.
as i said, with 6.0 stable AND with 6.1 RC1
any ideas?

Use a terminal, su, then cd /mnt/secure/asec, ls and if you can see smdl2tmp1.asec, delete it!

Either you are looking in the wrong /asec or you're using a file manager program that doesn't have su privileges.
Use a terminal, su, then cd /mnt/secure/asec, ls and if you can see smdl2tmp1.asec, delete it!
I still can't get the market on my G1 with CM6.1 either. I tried looking in my /asec folder, with su privileges, and didn't find any file by that name.
