Given the recent explosion of nightly users, I understand your need for a place to discuss them, and/or ask if other users are having similar issues as you...this is that place

  • DO NOT: Post to the bug tracker
  • DO NOT: Open another thread (I will enforce this with temp bans)
  • DO NOT: Think of this as official forum support; this thread will be strictly user to user support. Don't expect CM-dev help.
** These CyanogenMod builds are highly experimental and unsupported.

So, to flash the nightly rom...

I need to download ClockWorkRecovery from the market, then wipe all or something like that, and then flash the rom?

Cant it be flasheable with j_r0dd's recovery?

EDIT: Using it now...

wow it is very fast since the last time I used, everthing seems to be working except HQ video...

you can use j_r0ds's recovery clockwork is better if you want OTA's but you have to have paid version to get push notifications.

Hi, so for the cliq XT we use the "zepplin" rom?
What is the gapps rar file for?
I have a google apps account for my own domain name and I was able to add that fine without flashing that file.

Thanks for the help and this is great

You can do it all within the CWR app and do not need to boot into recovery mode to do everything like with Jrodd.
I installed the app, the in the app, top selection, the app will flash itself and the new recovery will get installed. From there, a couple selections down, still in the app with the phone on and working, you can install the new ROM.
I believe it then asks you if you are restoring or want to do a wipe prior to install of new rom, of course choose the wipe.

I am sure you can do this all from shutting down the phone and booting into recovery and following similar steps as with the jrodd recovery, however, I have found you do not have to.

so far so good and I am liking things
just need to get a bit more comfortable with everything

This nightly fixes the problem with Youtube HQ video playback as well as the problem with Apps trying to use the camera (such as the QR code scanning apps)

CyanogenMod 7 for the Motorola Cliq XT.  It's got everything Turl's previous work on ModMyMobile had, and appears to have resolved most of the remaining issues.  I'm sure there are still some nagging little bugs, but so far this has been a very stable ROM.  I'm flashing 55 as we speak, but I was using 54 for about 24 hours without any major problems.  I did notice my status bar disappeared several times, which I think might have something to do with ADW Launcher (Don't quote me on that), after installing Go Launcher EX, I haven't noticed any other issues.

**EDIT**
The disappearing status bar has nothing to do with ADW Launcher, I'm not even sure it has anything to do with this ROM, upon further investigation the problem appears to be caused by an unrelated app.

I'm using the nightly (#58) and can't get my phone to restart into Recovery mode through either ROM Manager or the power-button shutdown/restart/etc option. I can do it with the hardware method (power button and camera button). Any ideas on what might be happening? Thanks in advance.

You cannot turn it into a wifiap but you can tether to PC or labtop via USB tather

@jingles the path for it prob isn't set right. I'd just use hardware commands.

You can make wifi tethering with Cliq XT, maybe is still not working on this rom.
