so i know in past versions of CM and all other roms. some of us bravoc (DESIRE) users have had problems receiving sms from specific contacts. can anyone verify if this has been fixed now with the stable release?

I haven't seen this issue. There is requirement to use a 3rd party text app (handcent or chompsms) and setup 160 char splitting because the stock messaging app assumes a gsm network supporting concatenated sms, but thats for sending. [edit: turns out CM7 now has a split option in the default message app!]

are the "specific contacts" subscribers with the same carrier as the recipient? if no, then are all the "specific contacts" customers of the same carrier?

i've narrowed it down to people who were originally alltel customers and then alltel was bought by verizon. i don't seem to have problems with regular verizon customers. but its been said that uscc has some kind of patch for android 2.2+ that makes it work on the stock uscc rom. ive had this problem on both cm 6.1 and cm 7.

thats exactly my problem. only from people that wer with alltel when they got bought out. and yeah we're still waiting for someone to look at the code and find the patch but no one seems to be doing it....

NOW I understand why I have never seen this. Neither Alltell nor Verizon has a presence in Alaska, and I never text anyone out of state.

of course the other part of the question is are all the people experiencing this USCC customers?

What code? if your talking about the stock rom from HTC, it's all closed source. the only thing HTC gives code for is the kernel because its GPL, and even then they are horribly slow about releasing it (in direct violation of GPL terms)

i talked to a dev and he said they'd have to look through the stock code, said it was possible..

Kali is the main developer for this device, and he is in Italy so I can guarantee this issue has absolutely zero impact on him.  I have worked with Kali to help troubleshoot various issues but I can be of no help here as this problem sounds like its specific to US cellular subscribers.

i know of a 2 other devs working on it now. but it might be only uscc. but i do know that its only prior alltel customers that i have problem receiving text from.
