Given the recent explosion of nightly users, I understand your need for a place to discuss them, and/or ask if other users are having similar issues as you...this is that place

  • DO NOT: Post to the bug tracker
  • DO NOT: Open another thread (I will enforce this with temp bans)
  • DO NOT: Think of this as official forum support; this thread will be strictly user to user support. Don't expect CM-dev help.
** These CyanogenMod builds are highly experimental and unsupported.
**
** Please refrain from submitting bug reports for any issues
** you may encounter while running one of these builds.
**
** Submitting bug reports on nightly builds is the leading
** cause of male impotence.

Hope transition from nightly to nightly is easier than from tntlite :)

This is my first go round with nightlies. What is the "best practice" method of updating? Using Rom manager, I noticed there is a checkbox to wipe data and cache. Is that recommended going from nightly to nightly, or is updating in place okay?
If wipe is recommended, what is the quickest way to get apps back, Titanium?
Thanks!

Sweet!  Flashed 37, and now 38... the tablet enhancements are great!  I am so happy to have cm7 on  my gtab now.  This should do a great job of holding me over until Honeycomb/Ice Cream.

As a general rule, it is not necessary to wipe within a  version (ex. cm7).  I have had issues installing via Rom Manager- I flash via recovery instead.

Aboad20, not sure if it helps but coming from tntlite I first needed to reformat with nvflash to even get past vs birds logo, and then forgot to wipe and got stuck on cm logo. But once past those humps no problems like that--the android has sat there a little long once but then continued to boot...

Others r getting it. Wait for a fix. I'd hold out on this 1. I also experienced this and done the same thing u did. I read the comments through clock work and discovered 9/10 people r experiencing this. And those who get it to work have no wifi. Hours wasted. Its all good love u cm

I'm using nightly build 41 (which is awesome) on a brand new out of the box wooter GTablet. Everything is wonderful, except I can't get a screenshot to take anything other than a nice black screen - either via ddms, or via shaketoshoot on the gtablet. Forgive me if this is a known issue, but it would be very nice to be able to take a screenshot.

Same with shoot me. Weird. It's one of the things the cheap tablets do out of the box, even with 1. Android!
Probably either something simple or an issue with unreleased drivers? Guess that kinda runs the gauntlet. I don't use that very often--except maybe to tweet to "brag" about something on my phone/tablet :D

I believe this is an gingerbread issue, as DDMS does not seem to work, and that is screen cap in the rawest form. However I do remember reading a thread on XDA re: a new app that will do screen caps on gingerbread.

Seems more likely some issue with the non-accelerated screen driver :(

It has to do with how the screenshots are captured on different devices.  Mostly, they grab the screenshot from a video buffer, which the GTab doesn't have.  I know Screenshot ER works, but it's a pay app. Otherwise, you're stuck tethering it to your computer and using a more complicated method of capturing it through the connection.
