I got bored. So I made something. Enjoy!

The 256x256 scaled versions are the fastest speed on any device, however at the lowest resolution (quality). The 320x320 scaled to 480x480 looks a little better on my Motorola Droid (though not at 100% speed). The 480x480 one should play nice on a Droid X. (That's my not-so-subtle-way of saying I want a Droid X, but won't get one till it can be filled with cyan colored awesome sauce.)

Brilliant!  I love it!  This should be the new boot animation for all CM6 releases!  It makes more sense to me than the nexus-like animation, especially since I don't have a Nexus One.

I'm away from home and I wish I could watch this on my phone. Someone should compile it as a video so I can watch it :)

LOL! That's exactly why I made this. I felt the cyan colored Nexus One boot animation just wasn't as awesome as CyanogenMod. =D

Also I think the 320x320 version's file size is smaller then the Nexus One's original animation. Not by much, but every little bit counts.

Also, I'd be honored if this became the default CyanogenMod boot animation. =)

There is a YouTube video, but Tapatalk doesn't show it for some reason.

Just tried this on my N1 and neither file worked.
Went back to CM6 teazer bootanimation and that one works.
I am willing to test if you need help.
I really like the video of this one.
I would also like to see this as default cm6 boot animation.

Thanks for posting the youtube link for me! It looks great and I can't wait to put it on my slide. :D

Oh and btw, my vote is also in for this being the boot animation in CM6!

Yep. G1 is 320x320 and the 320x320 version I have above is scaled up to 480x480 for the Droid and Nexus One. Here is a link to a non scaled version. It may be a bit laggy on the G1 due to it's slower processor. If it is, I'll make a 240x240 version that is scaled to 320x320.

What happened when you installed it? Did it just show a blank screen or something? I don't have a Nexus One so I'm really interested in figuring out this problem.

Glad you guys like this! =D

Yes. Just a black screen.
Just tried the last file. Also a black screen.
seems to boot faster though. Maybe just my imagination.

Did you put it in system/media/ ? How did you put it there? I used Root Explorer.

It booted faster because the files are smaller in size (Almost half). The 480x480 one may be too much for even the Nexus One... If that's the case then you might have to use the 320x320 scaled to 480x480 one. It looks almost as good.

I put the file in /data/local/ using better terminal pro.
I did this as per instructions where I downloaded cm6.

Awesome!  It's got the actual logo and it's simple and clean, but still looks really cool.  I know I don't have a vote or anything, but I think that's the best one I've seen for a default CyanMod animation.

That's the first time I've heard you can put it there. I don't see anything in that folder to overwrite. (I'm running cm6 alpha3 on my droid). Try following the instructions below. Its what worked for me.

Overwrite the bootanimation.zip in system/media/ with the bootanimation.zip file that's inside the zip file that you downloaded.

Yay! That's what I was going for. Also I wanted to make it at least a little smaller then the default animation.

I like the boot animation.   I downloaded the 320x320 one, and put it on my nexus one (i wanted the smaller one) and was surprised that it took up the whole screen, I noticed that in the desc.txt file in the 320 animation, it was set to 480x480.  I don't know if this was on purpose or not.  I'm going to try to set it on mine and see what it does.

EDIT: ooops, missed the part about you scaling it up. ignore my comment!

EDIT 2: i updated my copy to 320x320 anyway, and I gotta say it looks good. Great job!

Well hmm... Maybe there is something different about that bootanimation or rom? I'm not sure. Maybe ciwrl could tell us why to put that bootanimation.zip in that location?

If you are using Root Explorer you need to press the "Mount R/W" button at the top before pasting.
