Is writing Clockwork Recovery from Rom Manager safe now on CM5.0.8? (For 32A) I dont know if this issue is related too HTC Magic 32A.

If not, howto write it manually from commandline? (I have perfected spl).

Thx

I've had it fail once on me, but today it worked OK.  I made sure to go straight into Rom Manager after a reboot had settled.  I think having other apps in memory exacerbates the low memory problem which can cause the recovery flashing to fail.

I've consistently had to flash through Clockwork a second time.

All methods of flashing the recovery are noted here:
http://forum.cyanoge...ot-to-recovery/

Amon_RA also explains the installation here:
http://forum.xda-dev...ad.php?t=530492
(same goes for the Clockwork recovery, there is no difference except the file name)

As for the ROM manager, when it becomes 100% safe to use it, the big bold red writing will be taken down ;) but yeah, 5.0.8 behaves much better than the previous 5.0.7...

but why bother messing about

just flash recovery via fastboot, or even your existing recovery

tbh, I've no idea why recovery/imgs are not packaged as flashable zips, at least as an option
it would certainly make life much easier for most

tbh, I have never used Clockwork, never felt I needed to, as RA-recovery seems to do everything I need

I just had a quick look,
http://www.koushikdu...very-image.html
'raw' image files can be downloaded off that page, but its not clear which you would need for 32a
