On the off chance that it matters, I also have one, which I bought thinking it had CM7 support because the model list said "Galaxy S".  -_-

I would love to donate to any dev who works on this (IIRC I threw $20 at the dev who did the Cliq port).  I'd offer to loan a dev the phone, but my current phone is broken enough that I don't really have that option.

Hey everyone, my names braden, and im new here, I'm kinda using this as an into post and a question because I just signed an account and havent had time to explore the forums.

I'm a member of some other Forums and i know this probably isnt the place to put it, if thats the case, can the mods please move it?

anywho, i have a Samsung Galaxy S 4G, and ive been wanting to use the cyanogenmod for a longgg freakin time, and i was just curious if theres a ROM out that im missing for it or what? cause im pretty sure the i9000 galaxy s isnt the same, and i really dont wanna turn this phone into an expensive paper weight.

if yall can shed some light on this for me, please do so, and i hope to become a part of this community!

Hi,

i have bought the Samsung Galaxy S 4G SGH 959 V.

This phone is not the vibrant

is there a ROM for this phone?

the answer is not clear cause in this page http://wiki.cyanogen...g_Galaxy_S:_FAQ, it'
s written that

The supported devices are mostly the GSM variants, including the international GT-I9000, GT-I9000M, GT-I9000T, Captivate (SGH-I897 and SGH-I896), and Vibrant (SGH-T959) but also includes the CDMA variant from Verizon, the Fascinate (SCH-I500). If the model name and number do NOT match one of those listed above — including GT-I9000B, Showcase, Mesmerize, Fascinate 3G+ (SGH-T959D), and Vibrant 4G (SGH-T959V) — then the device is not supported and these builds will not work on those devices. Please do not attempt to flash any builds as we cannot guarantee that it won't potentially turn the device into a brick. Look at the Support Breakdown list for a more complete list of supported and unsupported devices."

but in this page it's written too

Name Model Officially Comments on Support Status Number Supported? Samsung Galaxy S 4G SGH-T959V no While physically similar to the SGH-T959, the NAND structure and internals have changed enough to require it's own build and there are no maintainers for this device.

so, is cyanogen is supported on the Galaxy S 4G and what is the link?

thanks

Add another vote for CM support of the Samsung Galaxy S 4G (SGH-T959V). The people at my local T-Mobile store tell me it's one of their best sellers, so it's a little surprising that after all this time, still no CM support?

While it's a great phone in every other sense (and fast), it's sorely needing some CM love.

I just got a Galaxy S 4G and was devastated when I found out that CM doesn't support it, but to all of you that are wondering there are roms for it out there, a quick Google search will take you anywhere you want to go, I am going to try these 2 first

If you have been trying Galaxy S 4G roms for a while, which vanilla rom offered you the most battery life while staying lag free?

They need to support this device. There are official-unofficial leaks of touchwized gingergread from Samsung, but I would prefer pure Android.

By the way, how were you able to flash CWM? I tried replacing the recovery binary and flashing CWM for the Galaxy s 4g, but I got a signature verification error.

Hi,

I have a Samsung Galaxy S4G(T959V) phone and planning to install a Cyanogenmod 7.1 .    I have installed the ROM Manager 4.7.0.5 from market and trying to install the CWM Flash Recovery.   When i click on CWM Flash Recovery it is prompting me to enter my Mobile model and i get the following Options - Google Nexus S, Google Nexus S 4G, Samsung GalaxyS i9000, Samsung GalaxyS i9000 (MTD).      I am not seeing the T959V model here.   I would like to know whether Cyanogenmod 7.1 is supported on Galaxy S 4G.    Please let me know.

- Venkat
