I have ADW Launcher EX on right now.  I plan on rooting, so I can definitely remove most of the bloatware.  The phone is quick stock, yes and thank you for the advice.

I now have root, verified via "Root Checker" and several root required apps. TB to remove all the bloatware.  On the SGS 4g, TB's exploit to remove unwanted apps just puts the phone into some version of recovery it looks.  It doesn't remove the apps though.  Can someone please help, or suggest another app to remove bloatware please?  The screen just says, reboot now/delete user data/delete cache, and reinstall apps, so I reboot and the app is still installed.  Why isn't TB removing the app like is usually does?  Also, which ClockworkMod should I be using, Galaxy S Vibrant?

I bought my three days ago, rooted using Superoneclick.  I used TB, to get rid of most of the bloatware, but can't seem to remove Facebook, and Double Twist.  Is it safe to remove the annoying T-Mobile TV?  I would love to put CM on this phone.  It already flies now.  I miss CM since I gave my girl my Slide with CM7.

I removed that app and am running fine.  The only app I can't seem to get off is the "my account," it just keeps showing back up.

To your first question, TB should work fine.  I did notice, however, that after you uninstall the apps you need to clear the "Dalvik cache" in >>menu > more options > "clean up the Dalvik cache."  I also noticed that it was much easier to port apps to the memory card having the pro license and selecting this option in >>menu > preferences > App processing mode > "Auto, Indirect."  Without the pro version it seemed to always hang if I tried porting more than one app at a time to the sdcard.  I have used this method on both my g/f's s 4g and my own.

For your second question, yes, I selected the Vibrant version for mine; however, they are saying over at xda that it's not a true fix for our model yet, which is causing delays in getting a custom rom out for our model.

Oh, because the vibrant recovery isn't technically our S 4gs, right?  After cleaning the dalvik cache, after uninstalling three apps I wanted removed, I proceeded to reboot my phone....only to find the apps back on.  I tried Chuck Norris mode too, but it just does what I stated before.  I have TB Pro, I'm confused.  Any other suggestions good sir?  I'm trying anything I can think of as well, so.

Yea, I can't seem to remove Facebook, Doubletwist, and the air program for Doubletwist.  It's annoying, because they take up a decent amount.

You may try this method to see if it works in removing them for you...

Here is a quick way to remove the apps that come preinstalled on the T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S 4G. (you could also follow this for the ones that have .odex files as well. See ls command at the end).

I pieced this together from several forums. Hopefully it will save someone the trouble of doing this themselves (or serve as a refresher like it did for me).

Sorry I couldn't post formal links to the source files (forumn rules), apparently I don't contribute enough . Just put the server names in internet explorer and it should get you there.

1.) Download the Samsung Galaxy S 4G Root app. from mediafire.com/?096oxx07q6d88b3

2.) Download the Samsung USB Device Drivers from here:
-Windows 32 Bit drivers.softpedia.com/get/MOBILES/Samsung/Samsung-Galaxy-S-USB-Driver-for-Windows-x86.shtml
-Windows 64 Bit drivers.softpedia.com/get/MOBILES/Samsung/Samsung-Galaxy-S-USB-Driver-for-Windows-x64.shtml

3.) Install the drivers.

4.) Extract (unzip) the root app to a familiar folder.

5.) Enable USB debugging on your phone: Settings -> Development -> USB Debugging

6.) Plug your phone into your computer (wait till the drivers install)

7.) Open the Root app and click Shell Root

8.) Open a command shell (Start -> Run -> cmd)

9.) Type each line, pressing enter after each line:
cd <replace this text and these brackets with the folder location of the root app>
adb shell
cd /system/app
mount -o remount,rw -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblk3 /system

10.) Next type the following two commands (replace the <...> with your app name, press enter after each line) for each app you wish to remove

chmod 777 <insert your ap name here.apk>
rm <insert your ap name here.apk>

Here is a list of the one's I removed. You can get a list of others by typing the two letters "ls" without quotes into the shell and press enter:

Note: Do not type in the app names in front of the file names, they are just there to let you know what you are deleting.

Kindle App - Kindle-OEM-1.1.1.90750089-20100927.apk
Facebook App - FBAndroid-1.4.1.apk - Facebook App
T-Mobile TV - com.mobitv.client.tmobiletvhd.apk
Doubetwist - doubleTwist.apk
Amazon MP3 - AmazonMp3.apk
Layar - Layar-samsung.apk
Slacker Radio - slackerradio.apk
More Double Twist - doubleTwistPro.apk
Gogo Link (It's expired anyway) - GoGo.apk
Media Hub - MediaHub.apk
Telenav - TN6.2-6201036.apk
Inception Link - MovieShortcut.apk

11.) Restart your phone.

little more risk involved since you are actually hand removing the apps vs a more experienced programer writing the script.

Which ClockworkMod should I be using?  The 4g isn't listed, is there another model on the list that works?

Thanks for your help though.  I would try another method told to me, but it kind of confuses me a little.  I don't want to risk hurting my phone, so for now I'll just deal with it, Lol.  I would love to be helpful to the community, and run any version of CM to help start developement on my phone.  If any moderators or Devs read this, I would love to become part of the team.  I still keep my girls Slide running CM, and would be extemely open in being a tester/modder for my device.  I get a new Android phone fairly often if that helps, Lol.

CWM isn't working on the SGS4G yet. There is no timetable for its inclusion, either. Check out this thread over at XDA:

Yea, I think I'll still continue to wait for CWM Recovery.  I'm too happy with my phone to get into something like that, Lol.  I'll just wait, then flash when it is, then wait again for CM, then flash that when there is a version.

I deleted my original CWM fix post, as it turned out to be a sham.

Heylo everyone, I own one of these beauties, and was wondering if anyone had a list of the apps that are safe to remove.  I rooted using SuperOneClick, and removed a decent amount.  I'm just wondering, what else I can get rid of that won't skitts out my phone.  Any help is awesomely appreciated as always.

No one else seems to have asked yet. Can we put CM7 on the (AT&)T-Mobile US Galaxy S 4G?

I retract my previous statement.  I have removed most of the entire phone apps, in replace for my mobile gaming habit, Lol.  If anyone is having problems removing bloatware with Ti, hit me up and I can help.
