Thanks, this kernel seems to be better than the one i was using. Still no usb though. The problem is likely my usb cable. For some reason i think it might just be for changing and not data transfer

Alright guys, I am officially lost.  For some reason, the only thing I can get to run on my MT3G 1.2 is a Cyanogen build.  I have been trying for a few days now to get this Yoshi build to run with no luck.  I think I have tried something like 15 different kernels now and nothing, just hangs on the HTC Magic screen. This is how I'm sitting now.

I'm usually at work when I mess with my phone and have limited access to download sites and no SDK.  I'm up for any ideas at this point.

Thanks

You must use ebi0 (or 32b as pershoot calls it for historical reasons) kernel..

Cm6.1 and many other older roms have that as the default, however some newer roms now have the 2708+ kernels that are only for actual 32b devices (despite the fact you are running the same kernel/spl on your MT1.2)

In short make sure you use the pershoot 32b version without the 2708 radio support (you do not actually need to change either your radio or spl).

You can also try my last cm nightly build but it may have a green screen (remember the ebi0 version) see ez-exp20110109-ebi0port_S.zip

I used your kernel and got the green screen.  I've been looking through the ones on droidbasement and I'm not quite sure which one to go with.  There are quite a bit of them.  Any suggestions?
Also, thanks for the quick response, I figured you or someone else with alot of knowledge on this would be able to help me.

Thanks

Ok, so with ezterry's ebi0 it would load with the green screen, but soon after I started getting a whole sytem force close, so I switched to the pershoots kernel and as soon as it booted, which it did, I got the force closes.  So I Oshaka/Ezterry superwiped and installed the rom and pershoots kernel and just hung on the htc MAGIC boot screen.  Nan backup of CM nightly 257 for me.  if you guys can think of anything else, I'm up for it......heck if I can get your new unofficial CM7 rom running, terry, without a green screen I'll go for that.

Ginger Toshiba????? Do you mean Ginger Yoshi? He has pulled down the RC5 link due to bugs. Wait for his next release.

Yes I had mentioned Ginger Yoshi. Just after I saw the RC 5 the link had already been taken down. I'll be keeping my eyes open for any updates.

Ok I think your radio may be the problem. My radio is 2.22.23.02, try changing it and hopefully that will work. I could be wrong, but its the only difference I see from my phone. Maybe ezterry or someone with more knowledge could confirm or deny this. Also, do you have an ext4 partition? If i remember correctly i had to make one to get the rom to work. Just a thought

So i'm a tmobile G1 with cyanogenmod 6.1 and have Danger SPL and Radio 2.22.23.02. So how do i use this SPL instead and upgrade my Radio saftly? because i don't think the version needed for cm7 is compatable with DangerSPL.

When you say that you know this isn't true, how are you deciding that?  The /system folder-tree is a different filesystem than the /data system-tree.  Most Android tools will report the free space on /data and /sd-ext.  This tells you nothing about the free space in /system.

Using the terminal emulator app, try running "df -h" and looking for the line that ends with /system.

Got yoshi to work thanks to the link above I used ez-exp20110109-cm-ebi0port_S and then it was up and running (greenish) and then after everything was working, I went back into recovery and used boot-cm_2635.11_ds_32b-oc-uv-xtra-ram-fp-020711 and it's working perfectly.

So far I'm extremely impressed with this ROM
