So, after many people 'complaining' that designs were added at a later stage after the votes had already started I have decided to listen to you all and take the fair option of listing the final 3 winners from the previous vote.


So here are the three finalists, the result will be decided over the weekend and the winner will be stated on Monday 24th January 2011.

To clarify a few things;


1) There will be a new 'Mobile Theme' so please stop asking.

My vote goes to #8, has the quality I love, and the superb black. Second choice is #6. But sadly, I can't vote for it.

I vote for Design 8 by Basteinald and 2nd place goes to Design 7 by Stole Lazarevski (love the "pick supported device" - really easy)

As a Creative Director and CIO,

I believe Number 6 is the most creative/thoughtful because:

- it considers that phones may change in the future so if the Nexus 5 comes up, you don't need to change the design and static images (LOWER MAINTENANCE)
- it uses cyanogenMod's logo color palette (CONGRUENT)
- has an Android-like mobile interface that considers which phone you're using (FAMILIARITY/USABILITY/EASED HCI)
- Ambitious design considers additional community effort - Youtube, chat, wiki  (SCALABILITY)
- Looks less like fixed-width Joomla (CREATIVE DESIGN)
- makes emphasis on beer (MAKES DONATIONS FUN)

Some great Ideas/Suggestions that could be merged from other designs:
- Could the site be developed in HTML5? This would rock.
- Revised color palette could be less cyan (White/Black backgrounds? Maybe go to grayscale and see if it contrasts)
- pronounced "sigh-AN-oh-jen"
- carousel of mod features
- List of compatible devices

As a web designer I think Lazarevski's design is sharp, professional and intuitive. It's the best of the 3 by a very long stretch.

#6 hands down. The mobile version is really innovative. Just look at that context menu! No more iPhone UIs for mobile sites! Now is the time for Android to shine and this would be the first mobile site that I know of that mimics Android UI. It's pure win

Design 7, no brainer. Device selection, modern and nice graphics. Also doesn't look like an explosion of fluffiness. If it looks like 7 isn't going to win, I'll retract my vote and vote for 8.

I really like #6, except for the clouds and the balloon.  Too cutesy for me.

But the layout and ui elements are excellent.

the mobile layout is fantastic.
