I can connect to my WAP (using WPA2) but so far cannot connect to ad-hoc or open networks.

I could really use some help. My "update.zip" has been corrupted and I haven't been successful in finding another update.zip to download. Therefore I've been stuck on the same rom for a couple of weeks but I really like nightlies. Can someone please assist me with this issue?

Issue:
Create a vid with you phone and upload it to youtube. The video portion plays fine but the audio seems to be compressed into a blip and only plays through a small portion of the video.
From another thread, not my words:
I compared the properties of the videos taken by CM6 and CM7 and found that the audio frequency of the video recordings by CM7 were 16KHz vs 8KHz with CM6. That might be a cause of the problem when the video is compressed and uploaded to youtube...not sure though!

If this is the issue; on your next flash create an sd-ext partition that is linux native. When you create an sd-ext partition and use S2E (Simple2Ext) you can keep a reserved space on the SD card that will not be affected when you mount/unmount the phone to another system.
I used to get reboots because my themes used to be on the SD card (FAT partition). Now that everything functions in sd-ext (all three angry birds; a few other games and some Upward Spiral themes.) I don't have those issues. Having also used USB tethering, I have not had an issue with it causing a reboot.
Checkout XDA forums for ways to create sd-ext. Make sure the FAT partition is first. After S2E is setup and rebooted; open settings/applications/manage. Look on the "SD Card" tab. If anything has a green check mark, it still is in the .android_secure folder which is technically the FAT partition. Move those apps as necessary to phone (which really is sd-ext at that point).
Do of course backup your SD card before doing any of this; because a repartition will clear out existing data. I currently use 512mb on my sd-ext (twice the phones regular storage) and it's down to 22mb free; so I plan to make sd-ext 1GB when the next RC comes out.
One thing to note; when some programs are installed or updated they may want to use the .android_secure folder by default. So it's necessary to periodically go to the settings/applications/manage apps/SD card tab and periodically move things back to sd-ext.
