Hm, what's happening with the nightlies for our beloved Hero? Seems like pretty much all devices but the Hero are getting updated nightlies. Anything I can do to pitch in and speed things up? I have a few (18 or so) years of development behind me, from x86 assembler and pascal to php and c/c++. These days I mostly target the web and microcontrollers tho, so I'm not promising any miracles

Todays nightly build, proudly provided by Noccy and served by Dropbox

No modifications have been done to this build. It's a pure repository checkout followed by a build for the Hero GSM. Still haven't figured out how to make a folder publicly available (on Dropbox) so you will have to do with sporadic links here.

Use this at your own risk. It should work well, but as always with technology there is always a risk when flashing. But you lot most probably know that already. Just do a nandroid backup first

Thanks elig11 Just thought I'd put in an update, the 27/1 build from the other thread is the latest build with any changes in it. The md5sum and size of newer builds are identical. Will keep you updated as anything new pops up

Using 7.2 RC1 from this evening, will keep you inform

First thing : Need some translations for french such as
"usb connected" select to copy files to/from your computer  -> câble USB connecté, sélectionner pour activer l'échange de fichiers

Until now, this is all good for me : everything works OK and quicker than my former elelinux or chronos tries (Hero was not supporter by cyanogen for a while so I had switched to alternative ROMs). I appreciate the out of the box experience ! I don't know if CPU tuning and launcher are new or not to this RC, but this is fine !

Small issues :
- when changing theme to "system" : it re-launches the welcome process, with gmail account request, language, etc. After reboot, launcher is reinit  / replaced  (but desktops layout were kept).
- when going on play store, and chosing to install an app, sometimes a black screen appears until back key is pressed

Today, tried to associate my Hero with my wife's car (FIAT group Blue & Me) : said back to me that "a problem occured during association".
Tried a lot of times ( car in association mode, giving a pin, hero finding device, trying to associate by filling pin, OK -> problem), was working with my previous ROMs
Is this a Hero-specific issue ? I tried with fast or normal authentication.

Links for cm7.2 rc3 and 27 may nightly are not working ... the download never ends completely...  any mirrors, if any , please share

I see that is new nightly build cm-7-20120805-NIGHTLY from 2012-08-05. Any changelog? What is new and wat work?
