I'm not seeing any major battery life changes but I am a religious user of Juice Defender. Of course my settings need tweaking every now and then even when using same ROM continually.

Maybe need to recalibrate battery as well.

On a separate topic, does anyone else find a decrease in your battery life when using the nightly roms?

Bigtime. I used to go to work and get off 8 hours later with around 30% of my battery left. Now mine dies after five hours. I haven't changed a thing or any usage habits.

Regarding battery life, you may want to check your CPU governors and clock speed. Also, has anyone noticed HQ playback on YouTube not functioning? I'm using build 7, anyone notice this problem on other builds?

I'm running build #8 and having the same issue. I ran a few randoms with no problem. Once I tried videos from a subscribed area, I got the spinning wheel and every other video after that. But I have faith that they'll see this and keep tinkering...

The builds are looking better and better. I've switched back to 6.1.0 on my Hero, but the anticipation is building for CM7 to become stable.  Take your time though, because I know that greatness achieved takes time.  Handle ya business geniuses!

So the only things I have found so far that are having issues with Weather Channel app on my girfriends phone (she is running CM 7 nightly 7). It's pulling weather data for our location but force closes shortly after. My phone I am still running Nightly 6 and pandora will play 3 or 4 songs then go ahead and skip like I just put in a CD that I cleaned with a wire brush. Is this something that reflashing the ROM can fix or are there some deeper issues? (I only like to update nightlies weekly/bi-weekly so I am not flashing a new ROM every single  night)

Any one have any ideas?

Unfortunately, I do not have any ideas, but I am suffering from the exact same issues that you are with Weather Channel app and the Pandora App on my phone.  I am also see an issue with the Sprint Voicemail app.  It will not download any new voicemail messages and complains that it has no data connection.  I have seen these issues consistently on  CM7-[3,5,6,7].  Anyone have any ideas to help joshuaw84 and me?

Regarding battery life.  Since the update from CM6.1 to the CM7 nightlies, my battery life has increased significantly.   Very much impressed with the battery life in CM7.

Ok, after finally getting the correct Google Apps file, I managed to get CM7 nightly up and running.  The only problem (well, it's more of a problem than I'm letting on!), is that all my apps that I had on my Froyo build (2.2.1) are not on my new build, despite being "visible" on my SD card.  I backed everything up with nandroid before I started the upgrade, but they're no longer available to me.  I suspect this is a simple fix, since I don't recall this being an issue when I went from 2.1 to 2.2.  Any help would be most appreciated.

Backup your current rom, restore to cm6. Install Titanium Backup and back up your apps. Flash cm7 back and install Titanium Backup. Now use that to restore your apps.

i agree with mmelbert about the batterylife.
but im having the same issue with pandora. i have an hour long drive to work and i like to hook my phone up to my truck's audio and listen on my way.
this morning it sounded like a scratched CD and i thought i was going to have to pull battery and reboot because my phone was freezing up. luckily it straightened out and i just killed the program, but still. wtf?
why is this happening?
doesnt make much sense, unless its kernel problems, which really, tome, would make most sense.

but back to battery life, i noticed that every time i reboot it sucks down 4% battery. not nearly as much battery was used upon reboot with cm6. (but i suppose thats the tradeoff?)

Battery life for me has been excellent.  Decrease of about 3% per hour, with 5% per hour under moderate usage.  Previously on CM6.1, I was running down into the 20-30% remaining range within 8 hours (closer to 9 or 10% per hour) so am getting about double the battery life.  And that was before I tweaked some settings such as screen brightness and wifi sleep timeout.  Will see how much better I can get it.  Right after flashing, I wasn't sure that even the battery level sensor was working at all because the graphic was pegged at what looked like 100% for a long time before it dipped down at all ;-)  I miss the battery % level on the status bar, but I at least enabled it on the lock screen so I can see it when I unlock the screen.

I see that there was an update to the Weather Channel App, and after updating, the Weather Channel widget and and App seem to be working OK in that it did not force close.

Maybe there will be a Pandora update in the near future.....

I too having the same problem with Pandora, YouTube and TuneIn. So I'm using my APad 710 / WoPad 718D tablet till the next nightly fixes correct the problem for the apps. Other than that I love the CM7 setup, lot better that the stock image. I was able to chat on Yahoo Messenger for two hours and still have battery left before I head to work. I wish I could find someone that could create a custom Gingerbread image for my tablet. It's still running 2.1.

Make sure your cpu isn't set to low. Many have fixed the audio problems by increasing cpu to 352mhz for min cpu.

dlgltal,

Thanks for your reply.  This does fix the issue with Pandora and it seems to play fine once again.

Now I am down to one issue..... Sprint Voicemail App not seeing a data connection.

I had this problem initially.  The problem was in the FB app.  Syncing options had defaulted to "do not sync" for no reason.  Of course this may not be your issue.

I uninstalled it... once new one installed...  went to settings and turned it one for all, and it stayed.

Is anyone else having any issues getting the screen on/off animation to work? I've searched other places and have tried reinstalling, reinstalling and wiping dalvik, and making sure the settings on spare parts were all set to normal (i've never even touched spare parts before today) but still can't make it work. Any other suggestions?
