Not really sure on that one all I know is if you use "/" it doesn't like it because thats usually something that would indicate a new subfolder within the name you a creating for it. I recommend using the same type of format as the original name given to your recovery. Or something simple like "CM7nightly2.24.2011" If that doesn't work you might want to try unistall reinstall CWM.
I would rename it DC 1.0, NFXHero, or CM 6.1. It's not a big deal, as I have what it automatically saves as written down and described so I don't get them mixed up. I just updated to CWM 3.0.0.9 so we'll see what happens now. Thanks!

Will not keep sync. Can you be more specific? Does it sync at all? If so, how long before the contacts aren't there anymore?

I just installed build 6 and I don't even have the option to add a Facebook account. I'll update after my Google sync is done and my phone stops lagging.

Update: This build is pretty functional. GPS, Wi-Fi, Camera, Gallery, and 3g work fine. Some market apps installed and some didn't, which is to be expected considering my phone tried to download 100 at a time. I'm going to try and install them separately. After installing FB app I was given to the option to sync contacts. Once again, I will update when I see what happens.

Update 2: Not all apps download or install at first, I'm assuming because it is attempting to do 100 at the same time. Don't worry though, as many of them that failed just need some individual TLC. Download them separately and they seem to install fine. So far I am pleased, especially for a nightly build.

I flashed CM7-6 over CM7-3.
Not sure if that's the correct process or not.
8-)

But afterward rebooted again just to ensure clean boot.
My FB widget was not loading, removed and re-added and it seemed fine.
The Widget is slow, even after I refreshed is was 2 hours behind.  3 fresh later is was in sync.

Can't find the Gmail app anywhere. Fortunately, the Email app allows you to use Gmail so it's all good.

Update: The only app that seems to FC every time is Maps. Beta Navigation works fine though!

Update 2: Maps will work if you go to the market and download it from there. No need to uninstall the original maps, as it will just replace it. No FC!

I have the same issue trying to install Gmail on my son's Hero. It appears when the setup process is initiated, but not after the selected google apps begin to download. I get a message saying it cannot be found.  Any workaround to get the actual gmail application back?

The rom is the Nightly 6, from a complete data wipe.

Thank you,

what i meant when i said my fb wouldnt stay synced is that it would just lose sync. like...in the accounts menu, my twitter and google would both be synced fine.
i would select facebook to add an account, and either it wouldnt do anything at all OR as soon as i signed in it would ask me to sign in again.
and as soon as it accepted my password and everything, it would kick it and ask me again. but i finally got it to sync, and that was several hours ago so im guessing its alright now.

but, with your gmail problem, idk.
i selected gmail right from the start w/the initial google addons options when i first booted.
you should be able to download it from the market tho..

The only problem I am having and have been having since 5 is wifi dropping in and out. I keep trying to download the nightly through Rom Manager and it keeps dropping the signal fubaring the download. I don't mind doing it manually, but it would be nice if I could do it somewhere besides being hooked up to my home computer.

I was still having issues with GPS after flashing CM7-6, from CM7-3.
Reflashed CM7-6 and it's stable this morning.

I used Trapster and had live GPS tracking all the way to work.
8-D

I've had no issues with WiFi.
I check the nightlies every morning to dlownload over WiFi.
then read the chagnes before Flashing.
8-D

I usually also clear the both Cache's, then Flash

Going to CM7-7 now.

Thank you,
As I said before, I couldn't find the actual Gmail app, but you can use the Email app for Gmail. It notifies you the same works and works the same.

Let me know if you notice any differences. I don't have paid Rom Manager, so it would be a pain to install build 7 immediately after setting up build 6 the way I like it. I could always Nandroid but eh. Lol

So the only things I have found so far that are having issues with Weather Channel app on my girfriends phone (she is running CM 7 nightly 7). It's pulling weather data for our location but force closes shortly after. My phone I am still running Nightly 6 and pandora will play 3 or 4 songs then go ahead and skip like I just put in a CD that I cleaned with a wire brush. Is this something that reflashing the ROM can fix or are there some deeper issues? (I only like to update nightlies weekly/bi-weekly so I am not flashing a new ROM every single  night)

Any one have any ideas?

Well had to re-flashed and of course cleared both Cache's.  GPS wasn't working againa nd phone was very slow.  going through everything again, but GPS is working with no issue after 10 minutes.

I don't think I'm having a G3 issue as Sprint TV is streaming fine and browsing seems fine.

I know that a lot of issues are fixed with the Dalvik Cache being wiped.

I don't have Paid Rom Manager, so I download the Nightlies over my home WiFi and then Flash after reviewing some of the responses on the forum about the new Nightlies.
I just flash over my current build, but I do wipe the Caches.

Plus I'm new to CM and Flashing, but not new to Firmware/BIOS/SP/Updates.
I would never let anything auto-update.
8-D

I was able to update a few Apps with the Market also.

Although I would use ROM Manager if you could control when it downloads and when it flashes.

I finally found a link to the gapps zip file. Seems like that should be included on the downloads page.

On a separate topic, does anyone else find a decrease in your battery life when using the nightly roms?

I'm not seeing any major battery life changes but I am a religious user of Juice Defender. Of course my settings need tweaking every now and then even when using same ROM continually.

Thank you!
about the battery life: no not really. but thats just me. i leave my GPS and WIFI off unless im using them, i hardly ever use bluetooth, and my backlight is at about 30% all the time, unless its dark out and then i set it to about 15%.
my screen timeout is set to...30 seconds, but i turn my screen off myself as it is.
put your settings like this (as close as possible). use your phone as you usually would and see if there's a difference over a day or so.

i took my phone off the charger at about 2:30 am, its now 10:30PM and its at 51%.
throughout today ive used web several times, made/received several calls, sent a few hundred texts.
to me thats "normal use".

if that doesnt help much, you probably have too much stuff running at once.
