The newest nightly has wifi bugs. It keeps dropping in and out. I'm less than five feet from my wifi router when this happens so signal strength isn't the issue. The Market bug is gone and I'm not having problems with Titanium Backup not recognizing that my phone is rooted.

I'm not having any issues with wifi... If you have a secured network the password might not be saved correctly try and delete the network scan for it again and reconnect with proper password. This may fix that issue if this is the case...

WiFi works fine for me as well. Could be a problem w/ the flash.

Trying to flash #5, and I'm using the automated downloads from ROM manager for the first time.  Is it normal for it to stay in the bootscreen for a rather long time?  I don't mind not seeing the backup + flash, but I can't tell if it's actually running or just hung up.

Yes thats perfectly normal for the first boot. You should see quite the increase in speed after the initial boot. Also I always notice an overall increase in performance after I do my frst reboot.

Does it seem fit for daily use? Is there anything major that still isn't working? I am running CM 6.1 now and have really been considering this. I realize I could always nandroid back to 6.1, but it doesn't seem worth the time to flash CM7 if there are serious defects with it right now. Because they release new nightlies all the time it's tough to keep up with the changes they have made. Seems fit to have a compare page that lists the changes made compared to the latest stable and previous nighlies. Thanks!

The link to the nightlies is broken on the devices page.

Here: http://www.cyanogenm...s/htc-hero-cdma
The nightly builds link points here: http://download.cyan...tly&device=hero
Instead of here: http://download.cyan...ly&device=heroc

I've been using it daily since before the nightlies were out (Thanks Jaybob!), and it's been working great.  There were some issues with GPS, which have been fixed from what I've seen in the last nightly.

As for changes made, if you're going to go to a nightly then you need to follow the changes yourself.  review.cyanogenmod.com (click on "merged") gives a pretty easy to read list of what's changed.

Ok just flashed cm7 but noticed no market and my gapps are gone. Tried to find a link to reflash but found none. Otherwise I love it. Any help with getting the market and google apps back?

You need to flash Gaps as well.  There should be a download link next to where you downloaded CM7.

Anyone having problems with the market downloading?  I am on CM7-5.

After flashing I had a problem w/ some applications being installed unsuccessfully however a reboot fixed that problem.

I've been hitting the nightlies for a few days now and they are pretty smooth.  My ADW launcher reboots when I run some of the big apps for the first time, but that is about the only recurring glitch I am having.  Working great as a daily driver.

I know I need to flash Gapps but there is no link on the downloads page. Any clue where I might find one?

If you can update from Clockwork, you can piggy back the gapps download.

I didn't quote it, but someone posted links to the download page for Hero and it goes to GSM Hero page. Make sure you are downloading and flashing Heroc(CDMA).

That would be fine and dandy, but I don't have paid clockwork. I guess it wouldn't hurt to have though. Until then, a link would be killer.

Here is the Mirror network Cyanogen setup to store all downloads but it seems the Heroc's Gapps package is MIA

http://download.cyanogenmod.com/

Anyways I highly recomend purchasing CWM for advanced features that way your not missing any google apps that make your phone an actual phone. **Also good idea to support the people who bring us some of this awesomeness** remember there was a time when Heroc was just a paperweight because Sprint would not give it Android Version updates.

I definitely understand. Sprint screwed me, as they do everyone, so I went home and fully flashed it to cricKet. I rooted, installed CM 6.1, and overclocked and I have never looked back. If we don't take control we allow others to control us. Thanks to everyone who is keeping this alive and well!

Also, this question doesn't directly apply to CM, though it applies to CWM. Why am I unable to name or rename recoveries? Every time I try to it fails when checking md5 sums and says they don't match. Sorry if this is in the wrong place. I know how admins get about that.

Not really sure on that one all I know is if you use "/" it doesn't like it because thats usually something that would indicate a new subfolder within the name you a creating for it. I recommend using the same type of format as the original name given to your recovery. Or something simple like "CM7nightly2.24.2011" If that doesn't work you might want to try unistall reinstall CWM.
