If you are referring to their rainbow unicorn thing then I agree. Don't like it either as well as boot animation. Build 31 with camera mod didn't work so I reverted back to cm7.1 until they get things ironed out or 7.2 is released.

I'm new to these forums and to forum posting in general as well.  I didn't know where to post this, but after browsing through the forums, I thought this would be the best spot.  I recently upgraded to the CM 7.2 RC1 rom.  First of all, I love it!  The only thing I can't figure out is why my phone, when not in use, it would restart and stay on the white HTC boot screen (I'm not sure what it's properly called, but it's the white screen before we see the Cyanogen load screen).  Since I wasn't using the phone, I don't think it was anything I was doing or an app I was running.  I've reflashed about three times to see if it'd fix the problem or not.  I've just finished reflashing it again and start from scratch so it hasn't restarted yet, but before I'd get about two restarts every other day it seems.  Does anyone have similar experience or know what I could have done wrong?  Thanks in advance!

Did you do a clean install? Meaning wipe everything then flash the rom.

Im still kind of confused on why they stopped nighties with the EVO.  Its been what? 2 months?  RC1 of 7.2 is more unstable then the 256.  There are a few other phones still getting nightlies.  Would be nice to get updates for this phone.  But I am assuming that this phone has hit the end of its life cycle.  Its to bad since its still one of the best phones out there.

Hey Guys I'm new here and new to rooting in general, I've just rooted my phone friday night and since then my first choice (from good reports from a friend) was cyanogenmod 7.1. it was a nice experience but after maybe 5 hours or so my ability to send out txts was killed, I could receive them just not send them, I tried to reflash 3 times and I did do a complete wipe each time with no luck. So i went to aokp ics an I love the build it works really smooth for me but there are some features I cant use yet understandably like 4g and video. so I figured I'd comeback and give one of the newer releases of CM a shot as i would like to be as close to a fully functioning phone and with the sweet benefits of root. Wondering if there is a direct link to the lastest gapps? and I'm looking also for a kernel with pretty awesome performance and good battery life abilities any links or anything that would work best with CM 7.1 or even 7.2. thanks in advance!!! everything you guys have done is awesome and the fact that so many people help each other here is awesome.

Hiya. Been using CM for about a year now on my Evo 4G, it's been great to me. I was using 7.1 for a while and decided to go back to the nightlies. Working great for now but I'm wondering, sometimes I have trouble with the screen refusing to come back on after the phone goes to sleep, and when it does I can't really get it to do anything interesting via adb. I can use adb shell and ask for a process list (ps) but it hangs before finishing. adb reboot doesn't do a thing, and forcing a reboot usually leads to some filesystem garbage (lost clusters, oh, how this makes me remember the ms-dos days).

Are there any known common problems/fixes related that'd be worth trying?

*edit* - problem disappeared under the latest stable build of miui and under CM7.1 stable. Definitely something with the kernel or a module/driver.

7.2-RC2 is now available - built on May 10th. Except for Sprint 3G speed sucking eggs (I am lucky if I can get a steady 100Kbps download speed) and occasional battery usage issues (fixed by rebooting), I have been pretty happy with the last RC. Will try this one today.

7.2-RC3 built on May 26th is now available. Does anybody know what's new in these newer builds? The original changelog page just states "no CM9 builds".

Any one install RC3 yet?  As I am reading I see there is now a sense dial pad.  I am still running Nightly 711152011 which has been super stable for me.

Running RC3 for about 2 weeks or so. Pretty stable. Still have the spontaneous reboot issue if I use the GPS Nav while playing music via BT in the car. Haven't noticed any change in the dialpad, but, I probably haven't paid close attention.

Just saw that the 7.2 stable build is now available - built on June 16th. Plan to upgrade to it in the next couple of days.

One question - the Changelog (linked 3 posts before this one) has June 3rd as the last nightly build and a bunch of updates since then for the next nightly. There was a nightly built on June 10th and the final/stable built on June 16th. Why didn't the updates (since June 3rd) get picked up by either of these later builds?

The nightlies changelog no longer lists the builds, but it appears that CM7 for thee EVO 4G (supersonic) is now building weekly. I'm on the 7/8/2012 build and it's running fine.

Has everyone moved on to the new Evo? It might be time for me to do so.

Thank you. I was just not sure if hte new builds were picking up the commits/changes. Haven't tried the "weeklies" yet.

The LTE? Since it doesn't have Wimax/4G, it would be a step backwards for areas that don't have LTE (have they even started deploying LTE yet?). 3G is absolutely unusable in the Portland Metro area - I get between 300 bytes/second and 100kbps. 4G works pretty well for me. I too would love to get the Evo LTE, but, have to wait until Sprint rolls out LTE in Portland - and irons out the kinks.
