This was me last week.

I ended up flashing MIUI to poke arouind since CM was slacking, and I ended up keeping it. I love MIUI now. It has slightly less settings than CM7, but the minimalistic and simple style won me over (not to mention the insane ammount of theming you can do). However, in a lot of areas, MIUI outshines CM7.

I said, good day!

Well if miui had an app drawer i might be able to use it for more than a test drive bit the only things i liked about it was the visual effects like the charging animation on the lock screen and the developer supported widgets and themes. But aside from that I'm not impressed.

On occasion (pretty rarely), I use espier launcher to make CM7 look very apple. When people ask "why dont you just get an iphone" the entire point remains... because on an iphone I cant use adw if i feel like it. Why make UI look like iOS? Because I can. If I have iOS i can't make it look like android. I still use adw 99% of the time because i like it better, but the fact that i can choose is enough to sell me.

So who is getting excited for CM9 nightlies!?!

Actually just came in to see if there had been any upgrades or anything exciting. Been on MIUI for a while myself, I don't really miss the 4g and it just keeps getting better.

I do miss CM quickness however. How is the latest nightly?

Try also flashing a sense ROM and updating your prl and profile then flash back cm7 and clear cache.

cm_supersonic_full-255.zip  is great, didn't even have to do the GPS fix.

Use Root Explorer to delete telephony.db

Mount Root explorer to r/w (read/write)

Go to: data/data/com.android.provider.telphony/databases

long press: telephony.db
press: delete

Reboot phone and you should be good to go.

So its almost been a month since there last release.  And the list f updates is almost as long as the last time they didnt release nightlies.  I got an itch I can not scratch!

I am assuming the last release of cyanogenmod for this phone will be 7.2.  If anyone else can prove me wrong please do!  :)  I want some good news.

I don't expect anything else to come about with CM7.  I have made the switch to ICS (deck) : http://forum.xda-dev...d.php?t=1380478

It's getting updated daily right now, on PreAlpha6 at the moment.  Has a few bugs, ie. camera not working yet, no 4G support yet but it seems very snappy and I love it!   Not ready as a DD yet, but some of use dare to use it as such!  I would assume focus has been shifted to CM9 an I am patiently waiting that, but ICS-Deck has satisfied my itch to flash for now :D

Oh and I want to add in, the battery life I am seeing with ICS so far is nothing short of amazing!  I would say in the realm of 30 - 50% longer battery life then I had previous with CM7.1 and tiamat4.1sbc kernel!

I would just like to get confirmation as to weather we are getting a cm9 port or not. I'm sure we are since there already ics builds for our phone.

There's something not quite right here:

Battery life better than CM7.1 without 4G....

Isn't that because you are using 3G?

Or not using your Camera? (which on my Captivate turns the brightness of the screen all the way up)

And THAT is no joke.  You kick that transceiver set on and you can feel the phone get warmer.  That WiMAX radio unit sucks on the battery like it has a straw regardless of the ROM.  I don't turn that puppy on until it has a power source other than the bloody battery.

I usually only ever use 3G.  I live right between two clearwire towers so I usually can't pull it unless I travel couple miles east or west, therefore 4G is usually switched off.  I don't use the camera very much at all so doesn't come into play with battery life.  WHEN i do use my 4G though (I do go into both cities for work) It doesn't get warm for me when I turn 4G on.  I was just using 4G this AM and it wasn't getting warm.  It does use it just as fast as the 3G yes, also usually use it while plugged into a power source like my truck.

I should point out that I did restore back to CM7.1 due to stability issues of ICS atm and the lack of the camera (for when I DO want to use it)  So of course I don't know how ICS will be on 4G yet, so that battery difference I mentioned was just using 3G on both roms.

So it looks like a few of the other phones have gotten a nightly in the past 2 days.  Could we be getting another nightly shortly????  Twitches from lack of nightlie updates.   :)

Hum maybe I will dabble at making compiling it for our phone.  :)

These nightlies you speak of are actually new devices the teams just started supporting. Right now, the word from devs, is that nightlies will be very far and inbetween since focus is on cm9.
