This is getting really frustrating.  I seem to be the only one that doesn't get any sound from the speakerphone in CM7.

Same thing is happening to me.  What are you using to to view your logs?  I'll see if I can confirm what you've found.

1) Flash it via adb in recovery. I can't recall how to do that offhand though. Google for 'flash clockworkmod adb' or something
2) This can be done via CWM3. I think that the CWM2 we have now formats as ext3 though? I'll have to check.
3) Freenode :)

Thanks Ennon.

In looking for the latest CWM recovery, at this link: http://forum.xda-dev...285&postcount=1 there are two versions.  S-ON and S-OFF.  Which is the CDMA desire?  How do you find out?

The link for cwm3 is http://dl.dropbox.co...voc-3.0.0.5.img

Alternatively http://dl.dropbox.co...254/PB99IMG.zip . If you download that, put on the root of your sd card, and than boot into recovery from the device being off,by holding volume down and power it will apply the cwm update just as easily. Its the same method as updating your spash screen, just used in a different aspect.

Do we have to have cwm3 installed to run CM7?

Thanks.  The PB99IMG did not seem to work for me.  I put it on the SD card, shut the phone down, then started it holding down the lower volume key.  hboot saw the file, but nothing appeared to happen.

I also noticed my phone info in the hboot screen says:
BRAVOC EVT2 SHIP S-ON
HBOOT-0.98.0000
...

Does that mean I'm S-ON, not S-OFF?

I don't have ADB set up on this computer, so will have to wait 'till I'm at another that does have it set up.

Here's what I'm seeing, filtering the logs for items containing "audio".  This are showing pretty regularly.
D/AudioHardwareQSD( 114): AudioHardware pcm playback is going to standby.
W/AudioFlinger( 114): write blocked for 168 msecs, 24 delayed writes, thread 0xea18

I used adb logcat to capture the first line in my post, and adb shell cat /proc/kmsg for the second.  There's a lot of output from both, so use > to output them to a file.

C:\android>adb logcat > logcat.txt
C:\android>adb shell cat /proc/kmsg > kmsg.txt

And if you're not familiar with adb, here's a reasonable guide: http://forum.xda-dev...ad.php?t=879701

I saw those too, but I was seeing the same in both CM6 and CM7, so I can't say that necessarily points to a problem.  At any rate, it's nice to know I'm not the only one with the audio problem.

When installing CM7, will I have to wipe everything then install gapps, then gapps process one, then the rom, then gapps process two, then the cmtd patch? Can't find ennon's instructions anymore, link seems to be down.

To be honest with the constant bickering going on about the old guides, its best to go to XDA and get the files from there with a guide written by someone else. (In fact as someone already mentioned theres a good one here)

I agree the old guides should NOT have been pulled to promote a new way of doing it  so there was an archive for people who DIDNT want to go with a new installer or preferred the OLD way of doing it.. its like we are being forced to use other forums when all this stuff used to be here, due to ego's getting in the way..

TBH I cant see why someone cant post another guide showing how to do it with new links. As long as it doesnt use any of Ennons' stuff I really cant see what the big whoop is... cMTD was done by Firerat if I remember right and not Ennon, so if there was any issue Firerat should be briging it up.. But wait.. isnt this all open scource??? isnt that the POINT of android and all its mods... People seem to forget that it seems..

Luckily I still have the files. I just wasn't sure if the old way of doing it was compatible with CM7.

I would imagine its the same.. Do Recovery patch, reboot, Install Rom, run Boot Patch, Reboot.

Ok, you two (you know who you are), stop the bickering, or I promise you; neither of you will like the course of action I take. You got issues? Take it to pm's or offsite.

Now; more to the topic at hand, I've linked up gapps 1/20/11, please feel free to flash it.

To install the gapps file? You should just be able to flash gapps over the old. If you are just running cmtd. I know you are able to do this on froyo so not sure if it will be the same. Though should be.
