[SOLVED]
On at least 3 last nightlys I've had a problem with 3G. I'm having problems connecting to google talk, when I try to use youtube everything is too slow to even start the movie, when downloading something I'm lucky to even start the download. When browsing the internet a page takes 20~ seconds to start loading, and when it loads it does it fast as ever, but when following a link its another 20 to 30 sec to start.

I wiped everything, data, chache, dalvik cache and tried again with N29, no luck.

When downgrading to N20 everything works. Upgraded to 28 and 29 again and same problem as before.

Now I'm downloading N25 and will try that one and see what happends.

I'm on Telenor Sweden. anyone else with 3G problems on latest nightlys? 2G works great all the time.

When the problem occurs I have 5 bars coverage.

Edit: Nightly 25 working good. Going to 26 and up to see where it breaks.
Edit2: Nightly 26 working
Edit3: Nightly 27 working

Edit4: Very strange, Nightly 28 working also. Going to try 29 again. This is very odd since at first I wiped EVERYTHING, data, cache, dalvik cache (can I wipe more than that?) and installed nightly 28 and had my speed problem, but when I went to N25, N26 and then N28 my speed is OK again? Very odd..

Edit5: Now N29 works fine too. What was required for it to work was a downgrade to earlier nightly and then upgrade back up again. Overwriting the nonworking with same version of nightly or just upgrading did not work in my case.

Is anyone else having issues with turning on USB storage? It instantly turns off every time I press to connect. Any setting changes or workarounds (besides USB mount on recovery)? Thank you in advance.

No. But getting some freezes (up until today's release) and restarts. Otherwise it's actually quite stable and quick!

what's everyone's preferred method for restoring once you've re-flashed.  I've tried Titanium (had some issues as noted previously) and am looking to find a better way to "quickly" reinstate my device if that's possible.  If I use the Rom Manager restore feature that goes back on the prior nightly as well correct?

Any thoughts or tips would be appreciated.

Android Commander, there are now Windows AND Linux versions!!  It's allows you to visually select the apps to copy then copy them straight to the desktop window on the left.  BUT, there should be no need to restore them anyway, just flash the latest rom without wiping.  The flash script copies off the system google apps, flashes, then restores gapps, and regular apps will be unaffected by the flash (they're in the /data partition).

Hi,

I downloaded Build 32 crespo file, and I was wondering, if I were to download a new version of cyanogenmod, will mybackup root work to save all the current data I have and transfer it to the new version? Would you recommend any other backup specifically for cyanogen?

Thanks!

First do a nandroid to be safe. Then once you download the next nightly just flash it without wiping. the mod will just be updated without any data loss. if anything happens, just restore the nandroid you took before flashing.

Is there a RC on the horizon? I'm really looking for the CM7 for Nexus S, but I don't feel safe using nightlies.. Are these stable enough? By the way, is Koush the only person working on this device? If so, will there be more people working on this once the CM7 stable's are out?

nightly 33 has been working wonderfully for me, but the morning after flashing to 34, my phone bootlooped, causing me to miss an alarm (albeit not an important one) and was going for at least 2 hours or so, when I woke up, my phone was red hot :/

seems fine now though, I nandroided back to 33.

Hi everyone at Cyanogen...:)
I have installed the nightly build 35, then installed ROM Manager premium, then stuck the Team Whiskey Trinity-Max-CM7-1.1 on top!!
Phew this baby flies, my question is..will a new nightly update work (build 36 etc) now when installed via ROM Manager, i.e. will I have to uninsatll Trinity-Max-CM7-1.1
Thanks in advance.

Edit:
Thanks anyway peeps, got the answer from XDA, re flash trinity after each build update.

I had downloaded the nightly few weeks back and it works fine for me. when I come back to check the latest I seem to have forgotten where the nightly link was for nexus s. so, please help answer the question, what's the link to nightly rom for nexus s.

R,

Hi all,
I'm pretty impressed with cm7 nightlies on my NS, but I would like the option of reverting to stock gingerbread sometimes. I haven't found a stock nexus s image around the web. When RomManager is prompted to download and flash  the stock rom, it reboots right back into cm7.

Can anybody point me to a stock nexus s image or .zip?

hi all,

i recently switched from the Galaxy s (samasung built) to the nexus s which is also samsung built...perhaps the main reason to why i switched is that the nexus s is better in terms of looks and hardware yet i still get the awesome features... below is a list of options that are not working or just disappeared on the nexus s and i could use your help in trying to get them work... i am currently on nightly build crespo 40

1) No fm radio scanner, not an online radio scanner - but an actual radio scanner to play local fm stations.

2) No vedio call option, i am currenly based in the UAE  and part of the 3.5G services provided is vedio calling, i used to have a button on the galaxy s to utilze the front cam and make a vedio call on the dial pad - not any more

3) when dialing in the numbers on the dial pad, you used to get the names but just spelling the names using the numbers - so if i wanna dial moe i would dial 663 and moe will appear rather than going into contacts and look for it - this is not the case anymore

4) last but no least - videos are not playing correctly -- i mean most vedios with ant kinds of codces are not playing and if they do - they stop halfway with an error message...its just not vedio freindly...

5)camera options - the Nexus had way more camera options - namely panoramic pictures among many others. is there anyway i can get these options back ?

anways ... thanks all for the awsome roms, just wanted to share with ya what i find lacking in these nightly roms so far..... and if there is a way to fix any of the above  please let me know ...

Cheers,

You have only one post to read when you download the ROM:
The first one in this forum

Given the recent explosion of nightly users, I understand your need for a place to discuss them, and/or ask if other users are having similar issues as you...this is that place

1) DO NOT: Post to the bug tracker
2) DO NOT: Open another thread (I will enforce this with temp bans)

You should learn what is an Android stock ROM and all modifications made by Samsung, that would help you to know what you are talking about.

Most of the features you describe are missing from Android and where added by Samsung.

I think you will never see them again.
