Im admittedly new, trying to boot my phone after installing cyanogen 5.0.8. The phones been on the "Tmobile G1" boot screen for about 20 minutes with no change. Im told the first boot after an install might take a "while". But how long should I wait before i probably have a problem. Does anyone know how long these inital boots usually take? I appreciate any info.

Im not sure how long the "usual" boot time is but I can tell you from my experiences that the longest boot I have ever had is about 5-10 minutes max. Im not sure if there is any harm in pulling the battery and trying to boot again but I would wait for someone who is more knowledgable than I to try that.

Well the first time booting up after a ROM change will take quite a bit. Like JonWest1021 said, it would usually take 5-10 minutes but I don't think it should take 20 minutes like it is doing for you. Did you make sure you followed the directions to flash exactly? I would suggest doing a wipe and reflash all the files again as that usually works for me when something seems wrong.
Hope that somewhat helps

Thanks for the help everyone. I've followed the instructions very carefully. Wiped, Installed Danger SPL, Installed CM5, Installed gapps, but everytime i boot for the first time it sits idle on that "Tmobile G1" splash screen for fifteen or twenty minutes until i get disgusted and pull the battery. I don't really know what else to try, I've been at it all day. The only thing i havent tried is updating the radio but I have no idea if that would be related or not, I know the one on there was one of the ones listed as compatible with DangerSPL. If anyone has any tips they're much appreciated.
