So LG just came out with the Optimus T (for T-Mobile) and the Optimus S (for Sprint), these are very inexpensive phones going for under $200 ($300 for the Sprint model) off contract and either $30 (TMO) or $50 (Sprint) on contract.

I suspect the low prices will bring in a lot of new users to Android.  I know I'm thinking of picking up an Optimus T for my wife which would be her first smart phone.

Also they have already been rooted.

I have an Optimus S.  It's my first smartphone, but it seems a lot better than some of the other cheaper Android phones I've played around with.  I'd be very interested in helping port Cyanogen to this phone; I haven't hacked on Android at all, but I'm a programmer and it I think it would be a good project to work on.

I just got one for my GF when it came out on Sunday. (Didn't even know, was going to look at Galaxy and EVO.)  I rooted it with zRoot (I can already do it the hard way.)  She loves it, and I am very impressed with it. LG might even be able to do a better job than HTC did with the EVO.

Any plans on a Recovery Image for this?

Now that the LG Optimus S has been rooted and now has recovery, was wondering if a Cyanogen ROM could be built for the Optimus.

Hello, I just got my phone and really like it. I'm not a technilogical wiz, so I don't understand what you all are talking about. Could you shed a light on this subject for me and point me in the right direction?  Would greatly appreciate!

As far as I know nobody is currently working on a version or "port" of CyanogenMOD (CM) for these recently announced phones.  Though I think it would be a good idea as these phones are apparently selling well and are available across a lot of carriers.

For there to be one it would take one of the developers who is working on CM (or somebody new who has the skills) to go through the effort of adapting and customizing CM for use on these phones.  I've merely suggested it as an option for those who do have the skills (I do not unfortunately) who may be looking for a project.

I'm trying to get Clockwork recovery ported to the Optimus S (replaced my Hero w/ one) but I'm having a few issues.  So if someone that knows how to do at least that part of the port could PM me I'd appreciate it.

Extract both files to the root of your sdcard
Keep in mind that its not my fault it this bricks your phone.

i just got my optimus s on thursday, rooted it that night, and i need to do some serious mods to it! i'm having a bit of phone envy for people i know that have evo's or epic's, lol. i would very much like a cyanogenmod for the optimus! please make it happen!

I'm trying to port ClockworkMod to my LG Optimus S and it works fairly well except for flashing a ROM.  I tried last night and got an error when it tried to flash boot.  Does anyone have any ideas on how I can get a hold of koush to get his help?  He's not responding here, twitter or github.

I've got this phone too and i am trying to use Rom Manager and when it try's to install the recovery, my phone is not listed, what did you use to get your phone to work?

ADB shell and some command line tools.  Not ready for public consumption yet

Already using a custom ROM on the Optimus but would like a port of CM to use all the extra features it contains. If anyone has interest and want to have this also, post replies to show that there is more than just me that wants this.
